What is Worth Choosing
For Connecticut homeowners, choosing this general contractor, the New England exclusive provider of the Owens Corning Basement Finishing System, represents an investment in long-term home quality and peace of mind. The system itself is the most compelling reason to choose this company. Traditional drywall construction can be problematic in a basement, often acting as a food source for mold and deteriorating quickly in high-humidity environments. The Owens Corning product, however, is inorganic, breathable, and highly resistant to mold and mildew, making it a healthy, durable, and superior choice for Connecticut's climate.
Customers have reported a "better than 90% reduction of humidity" after installation, a crucial factor for anyone using their finished basement for purposes where environmental control is key, such as workshops, offices, or home gyms. Furthermore, the unique panel system is easily removable, providing simple and non-destructive access to the foundation, plumbing, and electrical wiring—a maintenance feature traditional construction simply cannot match.
Beyond the product, the integrated, professional service model is a standout feature. The company's business plan is built on a shared vision of product integrity and customer satisfaction. By maintaining their own licensed tradesmen on staff, they eliminate the logistical headaches and quality inconsistencies that often plague multi-subcontractor projects. This "one-stop-shop" efficiency, combined with quick project timelines, means homeowners get a high-quality finished basement faster and with far less stress. The dedicated project managers and skilled foremen ensure all questions are answered, and any unforeseen obstacles are handled immediately and professionally.
In a state where homeowners value quality, efficiency, and longevity, the offering from Owens Corning Basement Finishing Systems and its regional affiliate provides a premium, warrantied, and highly specialized solution that adds significant, healthy, and usable living space to any Connecticut home.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The company was very in-depth with describing and letting us know what was being installed and timeline of guess when project was able to be started. Due to the time when we put the deposit down and when the project could be started it did take a little while but that’s because the influx of people doing remodeling during the pandemic. The carpenter Tim and his helper were amazing both professional and went above and beyond. Lux renovations has their own tradesmen on staff all licensed and insured so you don’t need to go find an electrician here and plumber there, so they can get everything done for you, although they are more pricey then other options I would recommend them
Mar 07, 2022 · Adem RooneyI’m a retired professional looking to start my own cottage industry. Although there are many attractive commercial spaces around our city the cost for a workshop was not going to be financially feasible. We decided on the Owens Corning System after we met a spokesman from Lux Innovations who brilliantly explained several renovation installation techniques and how they differed, their pros and cons. Leaving myself and wife most informed to make the best choice. I went online to ca familiarize myself on the products of Owens Corning that Lux incorporates. Since the completion of our renovation project i now see how both these companies shared vision exemplify customer satisfaction. The installation product and their guarantee protects the manufacturing and products we produce in our workshop. The gem of Lux is the quality of their work force in every stage of the project. Quality sales force with a strong knowledge of product information and installation methods. An award winning office there to support their field force and a genuine talent for finding reliable responsible knowledgeable installers. This particular project was the second time we’ve use Lux and Owens Corning. I have and will continue to recommend the professionals to friends and business associates as I’ve been more then satisfied. Mold, humidity are the biggest challenge for us to contend with as or products are made from wood and leather. After the installation we’ve seen a better than 90% reduction of humidity with no signs of mold giving us the peace of mind to focus on manufacturing and sales. We’re happy. And a shout out Tim, the installation foreman who answered every question, solved every obstacle. Giving us the biggest bang for our dollars spent. And ABSOLUTELY LUX FOR HAVING THEIR BUSINESS PLAN IN SUPPORT OF OWENS CORNINGS PRODUCT INTEGRITY conducting business with customer satisfaction as their mainstay goal. GO NINERS. LOL 👌😐😑🤭😬☺️😌👍🏽😎
Jan 17, 2022 · Sito ZapaktliOverall we had a very positive experience with Owens Corning (called Lux Renovations in our area) and are very happy with our finished basement! The sales tactics for this type of business was pretty typical (somewhat pushy to make a very expensive decision very quickly), but the sales associate was also very transparent/candid about the sale and details. We really wanted to be able to use the extra space in our basement, but not have to deal with mold issues or be worried about accessing important pipes/wires/etc. Owens Corning basement systems are ideal for this purpose, which is why we went with them. Our project manager (Pete) was very responsive and down to earth with our requests. I can't say enough about the main person working on our basement (Mario); he was an incredibly hard worker and good listener for every suggestion we had for him. He didn't make excuses or try to talk you out of it (unless it was simply not possible, in which case he would explain why that is), he goes over and above expectations to make your basement how you want it. The only snafu we ran into was with our town permit office, who took absolutely FOREVER to approve the permit and tell Pete about changes he wanted to see, and this is what caused our project to go from 3-4 weeks to more than 2 months long. Pete and Mario were extremely diligent about getting the work done when all the permit stuff was worked out, but the town was really holding them back. Lastly, I would mention they're definitely on the expensive side (at least 50% more than I anticipated spending on a finished basement), but the materials are very high quality and you will get it done fast (as long as your town isn't holding them back!).If you want to be able to use your extra basement space (and add value to your home) in a way that will provide a cool, comfortable, mold-free environment I can't recommend these folks enough. They've been very helpful with everything we've needed even after our basement was finished and we feel confident that we'll be able to enjoy it for many years to come.
Jun 15, 2020 · Laura ByrnesMy wife found this company online And asked how much it would be to finish a 800 square-foot raised ranch basement. With them completing over 70,000 basement She asked how much a ballpark price would be and their response over the phone was 40 to 50,000. We thought this was a bit high, but went with an inspection understanding that with a legitimized company You have to pay more for The peace of mind that it would be done right. I was a couple minutes late with my wife being home to start the inspection And upon arrival was immediately asked what our budget was. I responded with hopefully not more than the ball park your representative gave us and his response was that we are looking at 100,000.00 minimum. Not including the 27,000 for the bathroom. From that point, I thanked him for the straightforwardness, And let him know that I was in no way shape or form looking to give a deposit that evening(7pm) And that if he had all the information he needed, I wasn’t gonna make him write it all up in my driveway (Which he said would take an hour) and if he could send it via email tomorrow I would take a look. I was definitely thrown off when he said that he does not send quotes And that if we wanted a price He would have to come back to sit down with us he then stated that we would be missing out on an initial visit discount. Talk about pressure lol. Then on top of it there amazing product that is mold resistant with lifetime warranty Wouldn’t even be used in the bathroom due to state laws. So yeah, Pay over 100 grand, but you don’t get the lifetime warranty for your 30k alone bathroom.
Sep 05, 2024 · Mason GreyOur experience with the Owens Corning Basement Finishing System was a very positive one. They answered all of our questions during the initial consultation and took time to discuss the process without pressuring us to commit. We were very impressed with the communication to schedule our project, members of the team who answered all of our questions, and timetable which was very convenient for our busy schedule. Our basement was completely finished in approximately three weeks. It looked amazing! We had two gorgeous rooms that were finished and ready for use. The team left our house as they found it and addressed our concerns before wrapping up the project. They asked us for our feedback and took time to show us how the system worked. We were very pleased with their consistency to ensure that our permits were checked and approved throughout the project. Overall, we would not hesitate to recommend this company to other families wanting to finish their basement.
