Jan 23, 2025 · Maureen CilibertoVery disappointed with the work they did on our home. Just because you're the biggest name in the industry doesn't mean you're the best. Project manager didn't seem to care about our home at all. The one thing I stressed was to treat our home as it was your home when he was handling the project and if it wasn't for me stopping by every night to see the progress, all the little problems I feel would have been left unfixed. Workers were extremely rough and messy with our home and the work done was average at best. Messed up carpet and then turned around and put a spin on it so the insurance company would pay for the replacement costs. Bottom line if you don't have a 5000 sqf house Belfor will not take care of you in a way you would want and would need from the industry's largest company. If you have a home owners claim and need restroration done go with a smaller local company as I feel you will get the service you need and deserve. Just a bad, bad experience and will never use them again.
Aug 02, 2023 · Dave MoonThese guys have been working on the reconstruction of my home for over 3 years and counting now. They gave me an initial estimate of 6-7 months. They would go for weeks at a time without getting anything done on the house, and sometimes months without getting anything significant done. After they finally had the house livable so that I could move my family back in before my insurance ran out to pay for my rental, they told me that there was still about two more weeks worth of work to finish up the stuff that they didn't finish and/or didn't do right the first time. Over two YEARS later, they are still not finished with my home. They had already collected half the insurance money by the time they had made the house livable, and they wanted the rest to finish. I made a written contract that we both signed that I would pay them about 80% of the remaining money and hold the final bit until they actually finished. Now they are complaining that I should have to pay them more of that final money despite the fact that they never honored the contract that they signed with me, and they wanted to get me to sign a new contract to pay them more, clearly insinuating that the problem with this job was me demanding that they actually do everything they agreed IN WRITING to do. They actually sent their grievances to their legal department to seek litigation against me because they would apparently try to legally force me to pay them money that they hadn't earned yet. After discussing the matter with their legal team (and clearly having record of the signed document) their legal team basically told them that they have no case and they need to finish the contract they signed. The irony to all this is that they wasted so much time NOT working on my house that they shot themselves in the foot, if they had just finished it when they said they would, I wouldn't even have notice half the things that they did a horrible job on in the first place, and they would already have ALL of the money for the job. You would think that a company so obviously at fault would be more conciliatory in their dealings with a customer... not Belfor...Now that they are finally taking it seriously, they are talking to me like it's MY fault that this job is taking so long and is such an annoyance. If I could give this company negative stars, I would. Generally speaking, to be successful in the service industry, you have to be good at at least one of the following: Timeliness, Quality, or Price. Belfor charges higher-end prices for their mediocre quality and takes forever to get the job finished... I don't understand how this company is as successful as it is.

Was it because I didn't have insurance & was going to pay cash? I should have been one of the 1st on the list, I call so early. I did get another company to come out & that day low & behold Belfor was down my street doing one of my neighbors home!!!! NOT VERY GOOD!!
