Bordi Restoration Introduce
For residents and business owners throughout California, facing property damage or the need for specialized remediation can be a stressful and urgent matter. Finding a general contractor who is not only knowledgeable but also trustworthy and meticulous in their work is paramount. In San Leandro, one company that has been a part of the local landscape is Bordi Restoration. This company aims to provide a variety of restoration services, from addressing common issues like water damage to more specialized needs such as chemical residue abatement. This article provides an overview of Bordi Restoration's services and location, offering information based on publicly available data and customer feedback to help locals make an informed decision about their restoration needs.
Bordi Restoration operates in a field where attention to detail, clear communication, and professional conduct are essential for customer satisfaction. Their owner, Craig, is noted in a customer review for his initial evaluation, where he appeared competent. The company's focus is on providing solutions for complex problems, and their D-63 license from the California State License Board (CSLB) allows them to perform various tasks within construction cleanup and restoration. It is important for potential clients to be aware of the specific licensing requirements for highly specialized tasks, as a review mentions a discrepancy regarding their authorization for asbestos removal. This highlights the importance of thorough due diligence when selecting a contractor for specific and sensitive projects.
The restoration process can often be lengthy and invasive, requiring a high degree of trust between the client and the contractor. A customer's experience, detailed in a review, provides insight into the importance of clear expectations and consistent communication. The review raises concerns about property security, communication issues, and the effectiveness of the remediation plan. It serves as a reminder that while a company may have a plan in place, the execution and follow-through are what ultimately define the customer's experience. The resolution, which involved a credit card challenge to recover half of the money paid, underscores the importance of a clear contract and strong customer service.
Bordi Restoration is located at 1271 Washington Ave Ste 749, San Leandro, CA 94577, USA. This address places them in a strategic location to serve the local community of San Leandro and surrounding areas in the East Bay. The central location on Washington Avenue allows for easy access and a timely response to client requests. In the restoration industry, a quick response is often crucial, especially for issues like water damage or chemical spills, where every minute can impact the extent of the damage. Their local presence makes them an accessible option for residents and businesses in need of their services.
This accessibility is a key advantage for local customers, as it means they are not dealing with a distant, corporate office but a company that is a part of their community. Being located in San Leandro, they are familiar with the area's geography, building types, and community regulations, which can be beneficial during a restoration project. For locals seeking a contractor, the ability to engage with a company that is nearby and understands the specific needs of the region can be an important factor in their decision-making process.
Bordi Restoration offers a range of services aimed at addressing various property-related issues. Their work appears to cover both common and niche restoration needs, positioning them as a versatile contractor for the San Leandro community.
Here are some of the services Bordi Restoration may offer:
- Chemical and Odor Abatement: As detailed in a customer review, they have been hired for specialized tasks such as abating chemical residue from diffusers. This service requires specific knowledge and equipment to ensure a safe and effective outcome.
- General Cleanup and Restoration: Their D-63 license is a sub-classification for "Construction Cleanup," which indicates they are equipped to handle various cleaning and removal tasks on a construction or restoration site.
- Water Damage Restoration: Like many general contractors in the restoration field, they likely offer services for water damage, which can involve cleanup, drying, and structural repairs.
- Mold Remediation: Given their focus on environmental restoration, mold remediation would be a logical service offering. This typically involves identifying and removing mold and addressing the underlying moisture issues.
- Ozone Treatment: A customer review mentions the use of an ozone machine for abatement, suggesting they offer this type of advanced treatment for odor and chemical removal.
- Carpet Cleaning: As part of a remediation effort, they have performed services like fully shampooing new carpet, demonstrating their ability to handle detailed cleaning tasks.
Based on the provided information, there are both potential highlights and concerns that locals should be aware of when considering Bordi Restoration.
- Initial Competence: The owner, Craig, was initially perceived as competent during the evaluation process, which is a positive starting point for any client-contractor relationship.
- Willingness to Attempt Complex Remediation: The company's willingness to take on a highly specialized chemical abatement project indicates a breadth of service offerings beyond standard restoration.
- Potential for Communication and Security Issues: A customer review raises significant concerns about property security, with windows and a gate left unlocked. This is a critical factor for any homeowner to consider when entrusting a contractor with their property.
- Discrepancies in Remediation Effectiveness: The review highlights a situation where the remediation plan, particularly the ozone machine, did not work as expected, and the company refused to refund the payment in full. This points to a potential for project failure and subsequent issues with customer resolution.
- Licensing Concerns: The review raises a factual point about the CSLB D-63 license not authorizing asbestos removal, which is a crucial detail for clients considering work that may involve hazardous materials. It is important for locals to verify that a contractor has the correct license for the specific task at hand.

Their central location provides convenient accessibility for the community. However, as with any contractor selection, it is crucial for locals to conduct thorough research, ask specific questions about licensing for specialized work, and ensure a clear, written contract is in place that addresses all aspects of the project, including communication, property security, and refund policies. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I hired Bordi Restoration to abate chemical residue from plug-in diffusers that were used in my house. I had the owner Craig come to do the initial evaluation and he appeared competent. I sent Craig the specific chemical that was used in the diffuser to make sure he could remediate/abate it, and I was assured by those in his office he reviewed that material and that they could remediate it and if the plan did not work, they would come out again until my house was restored. Boy was I deceived.I had plans to be out of town while the remediation work was done, and Bordi worked while I was away. I entrusted Craig and his crew with the keys to the house and a lockable gate. Because the job ended up taking longer than expected, at additional cost to me, Bordi was at my house for close to four weeks on and off. During that entire time, my windows were not locked (granted some time the windows were completely left open to air the house out, I am referring to after closing up the windows and locking the doors, Bordi did not lock the locking widows, leaving the house vulnerable to break-in). Bordi's comment in text was to the effect I "had nothing of value in the house to steal".I had a lockable gate that during the almost month that Bordi was onsite that I specifically requested Bordi unlock and relock each time they came and went if they used that gate, they never once locked that gate. In the end, and this is on video, Bordi did not lock the gate upon being evicted by me from the job site while still being out of town. Bordi kept turning off the video from inside the house so that I could not see what was going on while work was being done. Bordi said his personnel needed to charge their cell phones and this happened on numerous occasions, and I had had enough, and my neighbors told me the remediation had not worked and Bordi himself told me in so many words the remediation failed.Bordi did, in an effort to fix the failed restoration, fully shampoo the house's new carpet, but in the end, the ozone machine that was supposed to do the majority of the abatement did not work and Bordi refused to use that again for whatever reason and he refused to return my money paid. I had to challenge my credit card company to get half back what I paid, and I won that challenge.I would not trust Bordi Restoration to do any work on my property. My texting with Craig Bordi shows him to not care about the contracts that he signs or how his company's behaviors impact customers. The chemicals I was in need of ridding this house of are known to kill animals and make humans very sick, and after Bordi got done, the contamination remained. Craig Bordi's attitudes about caring for my property were equally troubling. For a service provider to actually write that a person's home has nothing worth stealing when I have a brand new house built in 2023 with quartz countertops, custom cabinets, HVAC, hybrid heat pump water heater, solar, solar batteries, etc., but for him to even say this to a customer shows his complete disregard for all who would ever be his customer.
Mar 13, 2025 · Mark Piriea D-63 license from the California State License Board (CSLB) does not specifically allow asbestos removal. A C-61 license is needed for specialized trades like asbestos removal. C-61 is a catch-all classification for very limited trades, and asbestos removal is one of the sub-classes, according to contractorschool.com. D-63 is a sub-class under C-61, which may be used for specific tasks within construction cleanup, but does not authorize asbestos removalNot licensed to do asbestos removal, however they do
May 18, 2025 · Michael RathI have only once needed an asbestos abatement, and that was over 30 years ago on a different house. When a floor installer said we had to get the kitchen floor tested in our 1961 house, my heart sank. That abatement, far in the past, had been an awful experience and very expensive.I did a bit of online research and was pleased to see there were lots of choices, including Bordi Restoration, who had a five-star score from customers and glowing reviews. I wondered to myself how they had managed to have all those happy customers. Well, now I know.Bordi is prompt, friendly, kind, and thorough. Their prices are more than reasonable. They did a beautiful job on my home, above and beyond anything I expected. I cannot honestly say that I hope to see them again (that requires another big mess to clean up!) but I totally, wholeheartedly recommend them to others.
