Appalachian Property Solutions Introduce
For residents across Tennessee, the need for a reliable and trustworthy roofing contractor is a common and important one. Whether you are dealing with storm damage, an aging roof, or planning a home improvement project, selecting the right professional is a decision that impacts the safety and value of your home. The internet and local advertising are filled with options, but a recent string of public information and concerning customer reviews regarding a business formerly known as Appalachian Property Solutions, allegedly run by an individual named Danny Lynn Collier, serves as a crucial reminder for all homeowners to exercise extreme caution and perform thorough due diligence before hiring a contractor.
The former business, Appalachian Property Solutions, listed its address at 1744 Fort Henry Dr, Kingsport, TN. In the age of online search and information, the physical location of a business can provide a sense of legitimacy. However, as public records and customer accounts highlight, a physical address is not a guarantee of a reputable business. In this case, the provided information and reviews indicate that the business’s online presence, including its website, has been taken down, which is a major red flag for any potential customer. The absence of a current, verifiable online footprint, combined with a physical address, can create a deceptive sense of credibility. It is a critical lesson for any homeowner: always verify a contractor's existence and reputation beyond a simple address.
Based on the information provided by former customers and public data, the services offered by Appalachian Property Solutions were reportedly broad, including:
- Roofing projects, from repairs to full replacements.
- Deck construction and home improvement services.
- Various other handyman and construction-related work.
The reviews from former customers paint a very concerning picture regarding the features and highlights of this business. Far from positive, these accounts detail significant issues that should serve as a stark warning to anyone seeking a contractor. Key highlights to be aware of, based on these public testimonials, include:
- Failure to complete promised work after receiving a deposit. One review from a military veteran and his wife, who is disabled, details paying a $3,000 deposit for a roof project that was never started.
- Lack of communication and unreliable scheduling. A former customer noted that the contractor consistently failed to show up for scheduled work and provided a variety of excuses, from a sick secretary to issues with a third-party company handling finances.
- Unprofessional and potentially dangerous craftsmanship. Another review describes a deck that was built in a way that was both unsafe and not what was originally agreed upon, with the owner allegedly instructing workers to build it incorrectly.
- Allegations of not holding a proper contractor's license. One customer attempted to look up the contractor's license and was unable to find a record, which is a critical point of concern for any construction project, especially those exceeding Tennessee's licensing thresholds.
- Publicly reported legal issues. One review explicitly points to a local Johnson City Press article detailing a judge's ruling on Danny Lynn Collier, indicating a history of legal problems, including a five-year probation sentence. Public records confirm a history of legal troubles, including probation revocation and appeals related to criminal charges.
Based on the provided information, the contact details for this contractor were:
- Address: 1744 Fort Henry Dr, Kingsport, TN 37664, USA
- Phone: (423) 765-0365
The information available on Appalachian Property Solutions and its owner, Danny Lynn Collier, provides a clear and important lesson for homeowners in Tennessee. While the business may have been a local operation, its alleged practices make it wholly unsuitable for locals seeking a trustworthy contractor. The detailed negative reviews, coupled with the reported legal issues and the disappearance of the company’s website, indicate a pattern of behavior that is not in the best interest of consumers. For our community in Tennessee, choosing a contractor should be a decision rooted in trust, professionalism, and a proven track record of successful work. This information strongly suggests that Appalachian Property Solutions does not meet those standards. It is a powerful reminder for every homeowner to take proactive steps: verify a contractor's license with the Tennessee Board for Licensing Contractors, check for a history of complaints with consumer protection agencies, read multiple reviews, and never pay a large deposit for work that has not yet begun. Your home is your biggest asset, and protecting it begins with choosing the right professionals.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am a military veteran, and my wife is disabled. We paid Danny Lynn Collier on June 16, 2020 a deposit of $3000 for a roof project. His website offered a military discount. He never showed up to do the work on several different dates that he promised. His story keeps changing, he almost never returns phone calls and has many different excuses. I have kept a list messages and phone calls of our conversations. I have asked him for a refund for more than a month and to this posting date our money has not been refunded. We will let you know if our money is ever returned.Danny’s excuses range from his secretary is sick to an outside company that handles his business finances. He advertises on many other platforms; be aware he is not someone you want to do business with. The Appalachian Property Solutions website has recently been taken down. Error code 404 appears when a search is done. Oct 21, 2020 · CHRIS FUCHSI wouldn’t trust this man to build anything. He was asked to build a certain deck and not only is it NOT safe but it is nothing like what we wanted. I told his workers that this is not what we had agreed to and they said they knew how to build the deck correctly but the owner (Danny Collier a felon) told them to build it this way. When I told him there were issues, he said he would fix them. Never showed up again. Tried to look up his contractors license and couldn’t find one. He goes around claiming to be a Christian yet drinks heavily and totals cars (which is why he was building the deck to repay a debt for a car that was never paid for.) He has a history of DUIs and taking money for jobs and yet never completing them.
