★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Short story — Don’t hire them for any design changes. Stick to straight up repairs.Long story — We had a mold remediation issue that turned out to be huge and traumatic. Southeast came in after the three other contractors were involved in resolving the issues. The first job we had them do was insulation, drywall, picture box trim, and paint. This was done fine. Work was fast (a little sloppy according to my husband so be sure to check the work).Second project was building out the fireplace surround. We went through three cabinet makers with Southeast before we even got to start: one retired, one had a medical issue, and one did poor work elsewhere and they didn’t want us to use them. They offered their painter as alternative as he did carpentry work outside of their jobs. Since we’d gone through the process of calling and getting no answer back, contractors not showing up at all, and just generally were exhausted and traumatized from all the repairs we agreed to try. They quoted ~11,000 for the work.We sketched ideas similar to what we had talked about with the other cabinet makers, and I asked for help trying to make it fit the space properly and wanted suggestions and guidance. In the middle of the project, it was apparent that the quality was not what we expected. The wood for the cabinets was rough sande ply and the cabinet inserts and shelves were sort of tilted and uneven. The mantel was made wider than it should have so the doors were cut down to where they just barely covered the cabinet holes and were offset (and the drawers were going to be made the same, which should have been weird and offset from the open cabinet space above.) It also felt off size wise and didn’t have any dimension. I cried for hours when I knew I had to call and tell them not to finish it.I knew that we had used time and materials on our project so I inventoried everything that had been used and the crew and time they had been there. I estimated that even if I padded the amount for management and overhead, our 5,600 deposit would fairly cover what had been done compared with what was left.I asked the manager to come and look at what was done. His response was that we never asked for nice wood, and that it was going to look beautiful, but I didn’t have the imagination to envision it. He insisted that we owed ~9,000 of the estimate for stopping the job early (which meant another 3,400 we’d have to send). He only negotiated 1,000 off of that.We hired a designer and found a new contractor who removed the work done by Southeast. Funny enough, this was also an 11,000 estimate and they used nice birch and made really nice drawers.Pictured:2. What Southeast built3. The space we had to work with4. The intermediate state of the new contractor’s build where I could tell it was going to be great.5. The finished wall6. The open cabinets7. The foyer with the trim that was good.
May 24, 2024 · Sarah PriestFor the second time in less than 12 months I had the opportunity to work with Southeast Restoration after 2 rental homes had fires.I wrote a 5-star after the first one because they did a great job both in the quality of their services delivered but also in their communications with me.My background is Project Management, so I know good Project Management when I see it and these guys did a great job coordinating all the services from demolition to rebuilding my homes including even replacement HVAC system in both. The quality of the work was excellent, but what mattered more to me was, when there was an issue, which there will ALWAYS be, they took the initiative to resolve it quickly and always with my satisfaction in mind.I also asked them to install a few things to upgrade the rental homes as part of the process and they made it work.If you have a fire or water damage, etc.. to your home and you need a quality mitigation and renovation company, this is my highly recommended referral to you!FYI: The two PM's I worked with for this last project were Jonathan (JD) and Jarrad, both were easy to work with, communicated often and well, and I highly recommend them for your project.Randy Switts - Good Friend Mortgage Inc. & Perimeter North Properties Group LLC.
Apr 17, 2025 · Randall SwittsSoutheast Restoration was hired to repair the ceiling in our master bedroom and paint the walls. Not one time did the supervisor, Rauol, come to our house to oversee the job. Rauol says he is overworked and has too many projects to supervise. 18 projects! The workers did not complete the ceiling or the walls and left dust and debris all over the room. They left bags of toxic waste in front of my home that I would like removed immediately. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should workers leave piles of garbage and toxic waste at your front door and just leave. Raoul is a mean disrespectful misogynist. He is everything women hate about dealing with these types of companies. I would encourage you to look elsewhere for good work and good service.
May 28, 2024 · Patti PiekutowskiWe used Southeast Restoration to repair some damage to our house and to convert a bathroom with a tub into a bathroom with a nice walk-in shower. Throughout the process, we were consistently impressed by the professionalism, timeliness, work ethic, neatness, and commitment to do an excellent job. This was true of both Southeast Restoration itself and of all of their trade partners. We could not have been more pleased by the work of Southeast Restoration. We particularly enjoyed working with Jimmy, Matt, and Brandon. We highly recommend Southeast Restoration for any home repair/remodeling projects.
Mar 24, 2024 · Ken RaglinIf you are in need of your house being put back together because of water damage, I would highly recommend southeast restoration I had a supply line to the dishwasher to run for about 45 minutes before I knew it and it leaked through the floors through my downstairs laundry room and bathroom. My daughter recommend this company so I called them and they were out the next day I met with Tripp And his team could not have been more happier with them. They were all very polite and helpful, especially a young man named.Brit They came in the next day and started drying out my kitchen floors, the bathroom and laundry room Not only was dealing with the house, but my husband was in the hospital and rehab for a month and a half while some of this was going on so I was on my own Brit came in the next day and started explaining to me what would be going on if I did not have him to show me what was going on I don’t think I could’ve done this on my own cause I was one stressed out woman and he has seen me at my worst through tears and everything else that Was going on in my life. Is this stressful? Yes not having a kitchen for eight months. It’s very stressful But if I have Learned one thing through all this is patience and having a good team to help out so from the beginning of drying everything out to the guy that came in and put my countertops in to Jeff in his crew, they put my floors in the crew that came in and painted everything to the guy, who in my opinion is the best carpentry man around, put my cabinets back together, and they are absolutely beautiful if something was not right, or I did not like it, they would go the extra mile to make sure that it was good for me just on that alone. I thank them .sure they get behind But they always texted or called to let me know what was going on. If I ordered the floor it may have been discontinued or hadn’t came in, but whatever it was that put them behind. They would always let me know.Brit call me or text me and tell me that when they were ready to be out he would give me a call. This is not gonna get done overnight and I realize that just knowing that I had people were out there working for me and knew what I was going through and was helping to make it better From the beginning. They were all nice and polite. if I have learned one thing about this, it is patience and trust the people that you hire to do the job and that is exactly what they did. I put my faith and trust in Southeast and I could not have been more happier with a finish project I have a brand new kitchen, which I absolutely love so if you are looking for someone, I highly recommend them and if you happen to get Brit you will be truly blessed on the last day of our walk-through and with us saying goodbye thanking him for all that he did the last thing he said to me was that it was time for me to take care of myself and it was just nice to hear That someone else was looking out for me and I thank you Kindly Brit. So was again i thank you all very much for all that you did for us.
