Impact Disaster Services Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For homeowners and businesses across Central Pennsylvania, enduring property damage from fire, water, or severe weather is one of the most stressful events imaginable. When disaster strikes, you don’t need a general contractor focused on slow-paced remodels; you need a rapid, comprehensive, and specialized response team capable of mitigating the immediate damage and managing the entire reconstruction process from start to finish. This is the precise role of Impact Disaster Services (IDS), a highly specialized general contractor rooted in York, PA.
Impact Disaster Services operates with a distinct specialization: comprehensive disaster restoration. They are the single point of contact for emergency mitigation, structural drying, clean-up, and full repair—transforming a devastated property back into a safe, habitable space. In a region like Pennsylvania, where the weather can be unpredictable, from severe winter storms to heavy summer rains causing flooding and water damage, having access to 24/7 emergency expertise is not just a convenience—it’s a necessity.
The term "general contractor" takes on a critical meaning with IDS. Their team is equipped to handle the initial shock of a disaster, such as a pipe burst or a house fire, by quickly performing water extraction, debris removal, and structural drying. But they don't stop there. As a true general contractor in the restoration space, they manage the entire rebuild, coordinating all necessary trades—from ceiling and flooring repairs to structural reconstruction—ensuring a seamless transition from crisis to completion. This end-to-end service model is invaluable for property owners who are often navigating complex insurance claims and emotional distress simultaneously.
Real-world experiences with Impact Disaster Services highlight their dual capacity for rapid response and thorough reconstruction. For instance, one grateful customer reported that after a water heater leak flooded their walls, ceiling, and floor, IDS "came out immediately and took care of the problem. In less than a day, they ripped out all the wet ceiling, walls and floor tiles. They dried everything out." Critically, the customer was so satisfied with the initial cleanup that they chose IDS for the entire reconstruction, stating, "I chose them as my contractor to replace everything and I'm so glad I did! They did a great job." The customer praised the team—Andrew, Jed, Andrew, and Rick—for being friendly, professional, and instilling confidence.
However, as with any major contracting service, project scope and warranty work can sometimes present challenges. One customer expressed serious dissatisfaction regarding the longevity and warranty of a roof installation completed by the company. This suggests that while their emergency response and interior repair work are often highly praised, prospective clients for full-scale construction projects like roofing should ensure all warranty details and scope of work are meticulously documented and clarified before the start of the project.
Ultimately, Impact Disaster Services serves as a vital resource for Pennsylvania communities. Their availability for 24/7 emergency response and their ability to handle the full spectrum of disaster damage—from water and fire to mold and storm-related issues—positions them as a trusted, comprehensive partner during a property crisis. They offer online estimates and onsite services to maximize convenience, ensuring they are ready to act the moment their expertise is required.

What is Worth Choosing
For any homeowner or business in the Central Pennsylvania region, what makes Impact Disaster Services worth choosing is their total commitment to disaster recovery. When your property is compromised by water, fire, or storm damage, you need more than just a repairman; you need a partner who can manage chaos and deliver order. Impact Disaster Services provides exactly this, combining the urgency of an emergency responder with the comprehensive skill of a general contractor.
Their most compelling advantage is the integration of services. Most disaster situations require a two-part process: first, emergency mitigation and cleanup (removing water, drying the structure, securing the property), and second, the actual reconstruction (replacing drywall, flooring, ceilings, etc.). By hiring IDS, you avoid the time-consuming and often frustrating need to manage two separate companies. They handle the disaster response immediately, and their construction team—as evidenced by satisfied customers who used them for both cleanup and the rebuild—can seamlessly take over to complete the project. This unified approach is especially beneficial when dealing with complex insurance claims.
Furthermore, the 24/7 availability across a wide swath of Central PA—including the York, Harrisburg, and Lancaster areas—is a vital assurance. Knowing that a professional, equipped team can be mobilized at any hour for emergency water extraction or fire damage assessment provides critical peace of mind. While it is always recommended for clients to thoroughly review and confirm all project details and warranty terms, particularly for long-term construction like roofing, their core competence in rapid, comprehensive interior disaster restoration makes Impact Disaster Services a reliable and necessary choice for property owners facing the daunting aftermath of a destructive event.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Roofs been leaking during heavy rains for about 6 months. Called someone to clean the gutters and they said gutters were pretty much empty. The new roof we bought mid-late 2021 is already screwed. They say it’s the wind, but our attached neighbors looks great. It’s obvious BS they just don’t want to deal with. What was a company I spoke highly of before is now bottom of the barrel in my book. Who would buy a roof to only last 3 years?Response: What’s unfair is spending $3,000 on poor workmanship that doesn’t even last a full 3 years. It’s still been under 4. I will post pictures of your sealant leaking through our window. You did offer to come out, but then you did email back saying you already determined the cause. Just scapegoating the poor workmanship and any accountability. We originally called Monday, it is now Friday. This is not a quick response, but it is ironic how you responded quickly to the review. Nothing in these pictures says wind damage. It is not one edge, it is every single seam. The rubber is only rippled at the one part towards the center, and if you look, it doesn’t look like it was even sealed all the way. Maybe that’s the issue, you don’t care to analyze the work. The reviews legit. Who would want to spend any amount of money on a housework that doesn’t hold up?
May 31, 2025 · Thomas MurphyI had water in my walls, ceiling and floor as a result of a leak from my water heater. It was a mess! I picked IDS out of a list of restoration providers. I'm so glad I did. They came out immediately and took care of the problem. In less than a day, they ripped out all the wet ceiling, walls and floor tiles. They dried everything out. (See photos)Since they were so responsive in cleaning up the leak, I chose them as my contractor to replace everything and I'm so glad I did! They did a great job. Everyone on the team was very friendly. They made me feel very comfortable and I had confidence in their work. They finished the job and I am very happy with the results. I will be using them for future projects. Thanks Andrew, Jed, Andrew and Rick
May 11, 2023 · Cynthia WilliamsHaving IDS rebuild my house after a fire was easily one of the worst decisions I’ve made. The “contractors” lacked basic skills. Over the months that it took to rebuild my house, I had several different project managers, and countless workers as they could not seem to keep staff. The workmanship was atrocious. After a few years of going back and forth with the owner about items that need fixed, I am still stuck with floors that look like they were done by a child. They did come back to stretch the carpet which made them look slightly better for about two weeks. But clearly they were not “fixed” properly as you can see. The last correspondence I had was with the owner on 1/14/21 in which he said “as soon as we can get you scheduled we will.” To which I replied “I look forward to hearing from you”. I never heard from them again!! Attached you can see pictures of the carpets that look like they were thrown down and the laminate that has huge gaps. Do yourself a favor and don’t let IDS add to the stress you already may be experiencing from your loss.Heather Popson (previously Shillito)
May 01, 2023 · Heather PopsonPRI was in need of a roof replacement on my home. Last week the Impact Disaster crew showed up at my home at daybreak. They removed the old roof shingles in about one hour. They then discovered that the roof had to have 45 sheets of plywood removed and replaced. The new plywood was brought in and replaced. The crew then proceeded to install the rest of the new roof. This was all completed in the same day by dusk around 5PM. I don't even know if the crew took a lunch break. I'm still amazed they completed all that in one day. I would definately reccomend Impact Disaster for focused quality work at reasonable prices.
Dec 22, 2024 · phil reckAfter dealing with a lot of people trying to get the damage fixed from a plumbing leak, I contacted Impact Disaster Services who sent Jed to help me out. I recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and competent company that does fantastic work.
