★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1As someone who works in marketing with a family background in real estate, I take reviews seriously and rarely write them. But my experience with Restoration 1 has been worse than the water leak that led me to call them in the first place. The mitigation side of the business was excellent—those crews were prompt, professional, and responsive. Unfortunately, that's where the competence ended.I started working with Restoration 1 in November 2024. It’s now mid-June 2025—and the repairs are still incomplete and incorrect. For seven months, I’ve had to chase this company down for updates. I’ve received one excuse after another: someone’s out sick, someone had a family emergency, someone’s crew is unavailable. I understand that life happens—but there never seems to be any plan to manage projects when these predictable life events occur. There’s no backup, no communication, no ownership.Calls and texts often go unanswered for days until I follow up again. And when someone does respond, it’s usually just to offer another delay or shrug off the issue entirely. Even now, I’m waiting for them to fix damage to the garage and basement caused by sloppy or incomplete work that should have been finished five months ago.To make matters worse, when I raised these concerns, even the owner was dismissive and condescending. No apology, no accountability—just deflection. If you have a full-time job or value your time, think twice. My life has been on hold for months due to Restoration 1’s lack of coordination and follow-through. At this point, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, and I'm working with companies in the Piedmont to *stop* referring them as a reputable mitigation and repair service.
Jun 20, 2025 · Robin LindnerWas very unfortunate experience with Restoration 1 whom I contracted with for water restoration (replacing floor planks, vanity, floor boards, etc). It began with having someone come out, telling me it was her last week on the job but she would pass along feedback to her boss, and then not hearing anything for nearly 3 weeks until my persistent calling. Eventually I was connected with them and they needed to have someone come out to do the same thing the first person did. A couple weeks after that, work finally began. The whole process took 5 months in total as it was a pain finding limited availability that they provided me that I then relayed to my tenant.Once repairs were said to be done, I received pictures from the tenant of many details being overlooked or rushed through. Thankfully the project manager offered to come back out to fix the bulk of them but shouldn’t have needed to happen in first place. Suggest going elsewhere for restoration services.
Oct 06, 2024 · Kevin HellmanI had a leak under my kitchen cabinet, the plumber who responded recommended Restoration1 and set up the appointment with them to come out and do the free assessment. I am so thankful that he recommended your company! I have so far worked with Jessie, Jay and Patrick. All of them have kept me reassured and stress free throughout this process. All are kind, considerate, respectful and knowledgeable. More issues have been discovered along the was such asbestos removal and way more water damage than expected. However, they kept me informed as to what would need to be done next. I know I'm in good hands with Jessie, Jay and Patrick, they have treated me like I'm one of their own family. I do believe God sent them to me to see me through this process.
Feb 14, 2024 · Sandra SpiveyI would never suggest. It is not only that the experience was awful, but a good company would have just owned up to it and try to salvage goodwill. Here, they were a one-stop shop in early May and told demolition and restoration would take 4-5 weeks. They completely stopped working on the project after about 2-3 weeks, when we had to get an asbestos check and removal, which was done in less than a week...after that, it was a number of emails and calls about scheduling issues and "Oh, so we are going to do ____ now, rather than the original plan", but then Restoration would still do nothing or send a contractor on site to consider next steps. Ultimately, in JULY we had to get a new contractor, to (1) finish the demolition and (2) do the restoration. Then, this month (SEPTEMBER) we got a bill for demolition...and to be clear, they never finished the demolition, hence we paid a contractor in July to complete the demolition. Also, zero communication about what was happening behind the scenes, why the delays, how they were trying to fix this...nothing. The experience is bad enough we are considering legal action because, ultimately, they cost us money and still sent us a bill. Even the insurance agent was amazed that no one would just be honest regarding updates, delays and "Here is what happened and here is how we will fix it."Stay away.
Sep 05, 2024 · Edward IveyThe worst company/customer service of any kind I have ever dealt with. They have done everything you don't do in a buisness. There employees (Patrick, Alex, Brittney and others all gave us information on what to do and how to go about things and as soon as they got there mitigation money they wouldn't help anymore even when Alex said he couldn't get any help from his (team) to get them to move faster so he was going to go over there head and contact the GM and he was going to send referrals and do whatever he has to do because his (team) is a poop show and no one is helping him do his job. Alex then Gave us referals for company's to help us finish our repairs. My husband asked Alex on the phone if we had cash in hand would the job have gotten done faster and Alex said oh yea right away. It was done through insurance. I talked to Mr. Jones the owner I was told he is but sure doesn't act like one. Yea he said several things that were lies and tried to say they don't refer out company's for repairs otherwise they have issues like this but I have proof that is egsactly what happened and so he basically was telling me he doesn't care were done with yall nothing we can do. Even said we never signed the repair contract with restoration 1 but we were never given one. Patrick was amazing at his part of the job but the rest of the company is a joke. Brittany has a major attitude and is not helpful at all. Another manager I dealt with mabye the gm was a huge jerk and major attitude also. I'm still waiting for some repairs to be done that Patrick and Alex said flooring would be taking care of and it's in text also and now flooring says they don't do that.
