Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros Introduce
For homeowners across Georgia, particularly in the beautiful and growing communities of North Georgia like Jasper, embarking on a significant home renovation or tackling complex construction projects requires a general contractor with a proven track record. From expanding living spaces to undertaking large-scale remodels, the success of such endeavors hinges on the expertise, meticulous planning, and consistent execution of the chosen contractor. This is where Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros (GARCP) positions itself as a contender for those undertaking substantial home transformations in our state.
Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros aims to be a comprehensive solution for major home remodeling and construction needs across North Georgia. Their stated mission is to provide professional contracting and construction expertise for projects that involve significant updates and expansions, such as cabin remodels, basement finishing, and large-scale exterior additions. They position themselves as a team capable of managing various crews and overcoming challenges inherent in large construction jobs. While their online presence highlights their intention to be a reliable partner for substantial home improvements, it's important for local Georgians to conduct thorough due diligence and consider multiple perspectives when evaluating a general contractor for significant investments in their property.
Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros maintains a presence at 4077 Camp Road Suite D, 4077 Camp Rd Suite C, Jasper, GA 30143, USA. This location in Jasper positions them to serve clients throughout Pickens County and the surrounding North Georgia region. Camp Road provides reasonable accessibility for clients needing to visit their office or for their teams to dispatch to project sites in Jasper and nearby communities. For residents considering substantial renovation work, knowing the physical location of their contractor can be a factor in their decision-making process.
Based on available information and customer feedback, Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros (GARCP) appears to focus on large-scale home renovation and construction projects, encompassing a range of services designed for significant property transformations. While the initial prompt asked about a "roofing contractor," the provided customer review primarily highlights their role as a general contractor specializing in extensive remodels.
Comprehensive Home Renovation: GARCP undertakes large-scale interior remodels, as seen in the multi-room cabin and basement finishing project. This suggests their capability to manage entire home transformations, including structural changes and comprehensive interior updates.
Basement Finishing: A specific service highlighted is the finishing of basements, turning unfinished spaces into livable and functional areas within a home.
Deck Expansion and Exterior Additions: They are noted for successfully expanding existing decks, which involves complex work such as extending roofs, new pillars, new siding, and exterior painting. This demonstrates their capability in significant exterior construction and integration with existing structures.
Framing Services: As part of larger construction projects like deck expansions, their team is involved in framing, which is a fundamental component of building new structures or additions.
Roofing for Extensions: While not solely a roofing contractor, they perform roofing work as part of larger additions, such as extending a roof over a new deck, demonstrating their ability to integrate new roofing sections.
Siding Installation/Repair: Their projects include installing new siding, ensuring a cohesive exterior aesthetic after an expansion or renovation.
Painting Services: As part of their comprehensive renovation offerings, they include exterior painting to complete the look of newly constructed or repaired sections.
Management of Multiple Crews: For extensive projects that require diverse skill sets, GARCP coordinates various specialized crews (e.g., framing, roofing, siding, painting), indicating their role as a general contractor overseeing multiple trades.
When considering a general contractor for significant home projects in Georgia, it's essential to look at various aspects of their operations and client interactions. Based on the provided customer reviews, here are some features and highlights associated with Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros (GARCP), along with areas where potential clients might want to seek further clarification and consider other experiences.
Ability to Take on Complex Projects: One highlight is their willingness and stated capability to undertake challenging projects that other contractors might decline, such as a complex deck and roof extension requiring multiple trades (framing, roofing, pillars, siding, painting). This suggests an appetite for intricate work.
Management of Various Crews: For large-scale projects, the team is noted for managing "the various needed crews," which is a crucial aspect of a general contractor's role.
Problem Resolution (acknowledged issues): One customer noted that while "no construction job is without a few flaws," the important thing is that issues are "acknowledged and corrected," and that the team did a "great job solving all issues to our upmost satisfaction." This highlights a mechanism for addressing concerns when they arise.
However, it is crucial for potential clients to be aware of a significantly different experience shared by another customer, which raises several concerns:
Project Delays and Unfinished Work: A major concern highlighted is extensive delays, with a project initially quoted for 3-4 months stretching to "an entire year" and still being incomplete, leaving the home "in shambles."
Lack of Accountability and Damaged Property: The review states that the company was "unapologetic" for employee negligence and property damage (furniture, decking, doors), claiming non-responsibility.
Allegations of Unpaid Materials/Subcontractors: A former employee allegedly stated GARCP "did not have the money to order materials," despite clients paying "almost the entire contract total." Furthermore, a plumber contacted the client, claiming GARCP had not paid him for work, leading to a potential lien on the property. The owner's alleged dismissal of the plumber as an "idiot and meth head" raises serious professional conduct questions.
Inconsistent Project Management: The frequent change of project managers (Jim, Brad, Daryl, Sam) and a lack of proper handover (not telling clients about new PMs) caused significant frustration and additional costs (e.g., paying a designer to re-educate new PMs). There were also allegations that a PM rarely visited the site despite leading clients to believe otherwise.
Poor Work Quality and Repeated Damage: Work was allegedly "completed improperly," and the company "routinely damaged other elements of our home and new work it had just installed." Specific examples include a leaking master bathroom sink, non-functional gas stove (which they later claimed incapability of installing), missing smoke detectors, hanging electrical outlets, and improperly installed kitchen faucets and tile walls requiring rework.
Misleading Completion Status: Clients were allegedly told their home would be "ready to move back in" by Thanksgiving and then Christmas, only to find it "a construction zone" with "not one room in the house was completed" and essential facilities non-functional. A response of "Well, what is your standard for livable?" to a client's concern is particularly troubling.
Licensing Claims: A significant red flag raised is the claim that GARCP "advertises it's a licensed contractor, but it is NOT." In Georgia, general contractors doing work over $2,500 are required to be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors. It is crucial for any homeowner to verify a contractor's licensing status through the Georgia Secretary of State's office.
For those in Jasper, Georgia, and the broader North Georgia region considering Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros for their construction needs, here is their contact information:

Potential clients are strongly advised to thoroughly research any contractor, including checking licensing status with the Georgia Secretary of State's office, requesting multiple references, and viewing completed projects in person.
For locals in Georgia, particularly in Jasper and the North Georgia area, the suitability of a general contractor like Georgia Restoration And Construction Pros requires careful consideration. While one review highlights their ability to tackle complex projects and resolve issues to satisfaction, another provides a starkly different and concerning account of severe delays, alleged mismanagement, potential licensing discrepancies, and significant quality control issues. This wide divergence in experiences underscores the critical importance of due diligence for any homeowner considering this company for a significant investment. Given the serious allegations of unprofessional conduct, financial irregularities (e.g., potential non-payment of subcontractors leading to liens, and claims of inability to order materials despite payment), and repeated quality issues, it is imperative for local Georgians to exercise extreme caution. Before engaging any contractor for a major project, it is strongly recommended to verify their licensing status with the Georgia Secretary of State's professional licensing division, obtain multiple references from recent, similar projects, and consider getting quotes and detailed proposals from several highly-rated and independently verified contractors to ensure a safe and successful outcome for your home.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Run, don’t walk, away from this company! GARCP advertises it’s a licensed contractor, but it is NOT. Their website says they are “Professional contractors and construction experts you can count on.” They are neither. We hired GARCP to update our small, 2-bedroom cabin and finish the basement. They told us the project would take 3-4 months, but after an entire year, they still could not finish. The first PM they gave us, Jim, stopped supervising our project but claimed work was being completed. We were shocked to find almost none of the work he told us was completed had been done. What little work GARCP started was incorrect, and they had damaged and destroyed our property- furniture, decking, screen and storm doors. When Jim left the company, our home was in shambles. The owner of GARCP, Daryl, and his wife Leanne (the General Manager) were unapologetic and said GARCP was not responsible for its own employee’s negligence. By this time, Jim called us to advise our project was not completed because GARCP did not have the money to order materials even though we had paid them almost the entire contract total. He claimed he left GARCP because they owed him money. When we communicated our concerns about this, Leanne did not deny it and stated “Well sometimes you have to rob Peter to pay Paul.”The second PM, Brad, promised to get our project moving. However, more months passed with little to no progress. We were suddenly told Brad also left the company, Daryl would take over our project himself, and we would be back in the house by Thanksgiving. Some progress did begin to take place. However, every time GARCP took 1 step forward, they took 2 steps back. Work was completed improperly. GARCP routinely damaged other elements of our home and new work it had just installed.Eventually, all our communication with GARCP was turned over to a new person, Sam, without GARCP ever telling us he was the new PM. This was especially frustrating because we had to pay our interior designer to re-educate a fourth person on the project. Sam led us to believe he was on site supervising our project. We found out later he rarely, if ever, actually visited our site. After promising but failing to complete our home by Thanksgiving, Sam and Daryl told us our home would be ready to move back in before Christmas. So, my husband drove up to move us in. However, when he arrived, not one room in the house was completed. It was a construction zone. There was not even 1 fully functioning bathroom. The sink in the master bathroom was leaking. The brand new gas stove wasn’t functional because GARCP had not completed the installation (and later said they were not capable of installing it). There were no smoke detectors in the basement. All the electrical outlets in the kitchen were hanging from the walls. The kitchen faucet was installed improperly. An entire tile wall had to be redone. The list goes on.When I asked Sam if he knew the house was unlivable when he told us we could move in for Christmas, he said “Well, what is your standard for livable?”A plumber GARCP hired to work on our home contacted us saying GARCP had not paid him for this and many other projects, and he had no choice but to lien our property even though we had paid all GARCP’s bills. When we confronted Daryl, he emailed us that the plumber was an “idiot and meth head” and would not be able to lien our house. We quit hoping GARCP would be able to complete our home and hired someone else to finish it.GARCP claims all that is left is punch work; but the cost for their shoddy work to be fixed and completed is over $40,000.Photos below showing how we found the home when they said it was ready to be moved into.
Feb 07, 2023 · C AWe wanted to expand our deck, which meant extending our roof as well. Other contractors reviewed the requirements and wouldn't touch it, not only did Georgia Restoration and Construction take on the job they did an awesome job. The extension added 210 sq ft. The job required framing/roofing/new pillars/new siding/painting,etc.. The GARCP team did a great job managing the various needed crews and the unusually high volume of local rain fall. No construction job is without a few flaws, the important thing is that the issue is acknowledged and corrected. The team did a great job solving all issues to our upmost satisfaction. Highly recommended in our book!
Mar 21, 2023 · Mike CarverVery courteous and professional, they provided samples of products without being pushy. We made decisions on our time with no pressure. Service provided in a timely manner with top quality workmanship. Job was not finished until we were 100% satisfied, would definitely use these guys again, and would recommend to anyone in need of new siding. We went with the Diamond Kote and could not be happier with the results!
Aug 27, 2024 · David BurrellGA Restoration did an excellent job treating the minor mold problem we had in our bathroom down to the subflooring and joists as well as completely renovating our bathroom. They arranged multiple contractors who all did an amazing job. We worked with Sam and he was very responsive and communicative with us through the project. They completed the project the week before Christmas, a busy season, and during below freezing weather without delay. I would work with GA Restoration again and recommend them to anyone for their restoration or construction needs.
Jan 10, 2023 · Kevin ParkerMy father worked for him as a painter out in jasper and the Big Canoe area. Everything started off great but ended horribly. He makes you sign a contract to work for him claiming to pay you at certain times and that is how it started but after a while the payment dates started to stretch further and further apart. By the end of everything he owed and still owes my father about $20,000.00 dollars worth of jobs and when confronted about it he just stated that my fathers prices where not realistic. If they were not realistic why accept him as a painter in the first place? After going back and fourth and him saying he will have money for us month after month he just stopped answering our calls and texts. So please if you are looking for a company to do your remodels look somewhere else.
