BBH Remediation Introduce
Welcome to an in-depth look at BBH Remediation, a contracting company based in Broadview Heights, Ohio. In the Buckeye State, homeowners and property managers frequently face challenges ranging from common home repairs and remodeling needs to more specialized issues like mold growth and water damage. The combination of Ohio's climate and the typical wear-and-tear on properties means that a reliable, comprehensive contractor is a valuable resource for maintaining a safe and functional home environment. BBH Remediation positions itself as a service provider addressing this full spectrum of needs, offering both remediation expertise and general contracting services.
The core of their service offering blends emergency response and technical remediation with broader construction and home improvement capabilities. For Ohio residents, this means potentially finding a single point of contact for complex projects. For example, a basement flood or a persistent roof leak can lead to significant water damage, necessitating immediate 'Dry Out Services' and 'Mold Remediation.' Following this critical cleanup and hazard removal, the property often requires structural repairs and finishing work, which falls under their 'Remodeling' and 'Drywall installation' services. This integrated approach aims to streamline the process for the client, moving from disaster mitigation directly into restoration.
However, as with any service provider, potential customers in Ohio should conduct thorough research and exercise due diligence. Publicly available customer feedback for BBH Remediation indicates instances of strong dissatisfaction regarding professionalism, billing transparency, scheduling issues, and quality of final work. Specifically, customers have reported demands for unauthorized additional fees after agreeing to a contract, significant delays in project timelines with poor communication, and what they perceived as inflated labor charges for hours not fully worked. Furthermore, alarming claims of hostility and property vandalism following a payment dispute have been made and reported to authorities. These claims highlight potential risks related to customer service and business conduct that Ohio homeowners should be aware of when considering this company for a project, especially one that requires a high degree of trust and financial commitment.
The importance of clear, up-front contracts and detailed communication cannot be overstated, particularly in the mold remediation and restoration industry. Because these projects often involve insurance claims and the health of the property's occupants, choosing a contractor with a proven track record of ethical practices and reliable communication is essential.
BBH Remediation’s service model, by offering a wide array of both specialized and general contracting work, theoretically provides convenience, but customers must weigh this against the noted consistency and integrity concerns found in consumer feedback. For Ohio residents researching home services, these details serve as a crucial reminder to prioritize contractors who demonstrate unwavering professionalism, transparency in all financial dealings, and a commitment to completing work within agreed-upon timeframes and to a high standard.
BBH Remediation is located in the northeastern region of Ohio, serving the greater Cleveland and Akron area. Their physical address situates them in the Broadview Heights community, making their base of operations central to serving a significant portion of Cuyahoga County and surrounding areas. This location is easily accessible for local clients and helps support the company’s ability to respond to service calls throughout the region.
Accessibility is noted as a key feature of the business location itself. This dedication to accommodating all clients is reflected in the following aspects:
- Wheelchair accessible parking lot is available on-site, providing necessary access for all customers.
- On-site parking is provided for convenient, direct access to the business location.
Furthermore, the company has stated its commitment to a welcoming environment for all Ohio residents, noting itself as:
- LGBTQ+ friendly.
- Transgender safespace.
BBH Remediation offers a dual focus on contractor services and environmental remediation, aiming to be a full-service provider from initial damage control to final structural restoration. Their listed services are designed to address both emergency situations and planned home improvements.
- Mold Remediation: The critical process of identifying, containing, and safely removing mold from a property. This is vital in Ohio's climate, where moisture and humidity can often lead to mold growth in basements, attics, and around leaks.
- Mold Detection: Using specialized tools and expertise to locate both visible and hidden mold growth, a necessary first step for effective remediation.
- Dry Out Services: Essential for addressing water damage from floods, leaks, or burst pipes, which involves extracting water and thoroughly drying affected areas to prevent secondary damage like mold.
- Indoor Air Purification: Services aimed at improving the air quality within a property, often post-remediation, to remove airborne spores and contaminants.
- Remodeling: General home improvement and renovation services, allowing clients to restore damaged areas or pursue planned upgrades.
- Drywall installation: Repair and replacement of drywall, often necessary following water damage or during remodeling projects.
- General Repairs: A broad range of minor and major fixes needed to maintain a property’s structural integrity and functionality.
- Plumbing services: Addressing various plumbing issues, including repairs.
- Repair water fixtures: Specific service for fixing or replacing faucets, shower heads, and other water-related hardware.
Based on the publicly available data, the operational and accessibility features of BBH Remediation include:
- Dual Specialization: The company combines the highly specialized fields of mold and water damage remediation with general contracting skills (remodeling, drywall, general repairs), offering a comprehensive project flow from cleanup to full restoration.
- Local Presence: Located in Broadview Heights, Ohio, the company operates within the vital Cleveland-Akron metropolitan service area, allowing them to serve a large population base.
- Physical Accessibility: The location provides a wheelchair accessible parking lot and dedicated on-site parking for customer convenience.
- Inclusivity Focus: The business is noted as an LGBTQ+ friendly environment and a Transgender safespace, indicating a stated commitment to a welcoming atmosphere for diverse members of the Ohio community.

Choosing a contractor for remediation and remodeling in Ohio is a critical decision that balances service range against business reliability. BBH Remediation's comprehensive service list, which spans mold detection, water dry-out, and full-scale remodeling, presents the potential benefit of simplified project management by using one company for both the cleanup of damage and the subsequent restoration work. For an Ohio homeowner dealing with a disaster like a flooded basement, having a contractor capable of handling the initial water extraction, the necessary mold remediation, and the final drywall and flooring replacement can be a practical convenience, minimizing the logistical headache of coordinating multiple specialist companies.
The company’s noted commitment to physical accessibility and its stated welcoming environment for the LGBTQ+ and transgender communities are positive, non-operational qualities that reflect a business dedicated to inclusivity for all Ohio residents.
However, it is imperative that any Ohio resident considering this business take the time to thoroughly investigate the pattern of serious customer complaints that have been publicly documented. Multiple customers have detailed experiences of significant issues that undermine the benefits of the service offerings. These documented issues include an alleged attempt to demand extra, unauthorized fees well after a contract was signed, extreme and uncommunicated project delays (turning a 4-day job into a 10-day disruption), careless workmanship resulting in property damage, and unprofessional communication, including the reported use of hostile tactics and threats of legal action for payment. One customer even reported property vandalism following a payment dispute.
The convenience of a single contractor for comprehensive services must be weighed against these serious concerns regarding business integrity, professionalism, scheduling reliability, and billing transparency. For any project, particularly those involving emergency damage where costs can escalate quickly, Ohio residents should prioritize contractors who can provide consistent, verifiable proof of ethical business practices, detailed and firm written estimates, adherence to deadlines, and respectful, transparent communication. Given the availability of other contractors in the large Ohio market who specialize in these combined services, potential clients must fully satisfy themselves that BBH Remediation’s services will be delivered with the integrity and professionalism that major home projects demand.
It is strongly recommended that customers in Ohio secure a fixed, signed contract that details all work and pricing, including provisions for waste disposal and any permit fees, and that they consider consulting with legal counsel or consumer protection agencies if faced with sudden, unauthorized demands for additional payment or aggressive business tactics.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I hired BBH Remediation to inspect and repair a minor mold issue in my basement, dry out and install replacement vinyl flooring. We had a clear, signed estimate for mold remediation at $2,500 and flooring installation at $3,000, no mention of any additional “processing” or “permit” fees. The technician arrived on time, did good work, and I paid the agreed total of $5,500 at the completion of the job. A week later, I received a phone call from the owner demanding an extra $1,200 for “waste disposal” and “extra labor.” I reminded him these charges were never discussed, emailed, or included in our written agreement. He became hostile, insisting I pay immediately via cash or he’d file a lien against my home. I refused, citing our signed contract. The next morning, I discovered all four of my car’s tires had been slashed. I reported it to the police, and the officer noted the timing and my recent dispute with the company as suspicious. I’ve since contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint with my state’s contractor licensing board. BBH Remediation's initial work was acceptable, but the owner’s attempt to pressure me for unauthorized fees, and the subsequent vandalism, crossed every line of professionalism and legality. I cannot recommend entrusting your home or safety to someone willing to resort to intimidation and property damage. If you want honest, up-front pricing and peace of mind, look elsewhere.
Aug 19, 2025 · Bastian EllsworthDo not hire BBH Remediation, carelessness lead to extensive damage to our property, scheduling was unprofessionally done and made unclear when things would be done, and zero accountability was taken from start to finish.Like other reviews claim, were required by the owner to pay a 35% deposit before they even began working. The written contract stated the job would take 4 days (August 1 – August 4). Instead, the work dragged on for over double that, 10 days (August 1 – August 10) after they canceled twice at the last minute the day of, and showed up over an hour late on three separate occasions. The delay left our kitchen, and house nearly unusable for more than double the promised timeframe, with no revised schedule or communication from them.During the project, they damaged our sink faucet as well as some plumbing underneath the sink, tracked sawdust and debris throughout the house, and left sharp nails and screws on the floor—dangerous for our pets and kids. They claimed they would clean up at the end of each day, but I ended up vacuuming and mopping after them every single time. Two workers were scheduled for the entire project, but across four visits they put in no more than 10 hours total combined. Despite that, they billed us for 18 hours of labor. When questioned, the owner insisted the invoice was “accurate” and refused to adjust it or elaborate. When I voiced frustration over text about the repeated cancellations and late arrivals, the owner ignored me for two days. In a later call with my spouse, he said I was being “overly dramatic” and that “delays happen.” Upon completion, we asked for an updated invoice before paying the balance. Instead, we were told payment must be made immediately by credit card or they would “send it to collections.” Only after we pushed back did they agree to send an invoice—then added an unexplained $75 “administrative fee.”They eventually offered $150 off our nearly $4,200 total, which in our opinion was a token gesture for the poor service and inflated labor charges. The quality of the work was disappointing—cabinet doors hung unevenly, paint drips left on the floor, and trim pieces not fully secured.Bottom line; careless workmanship, inflated bills, poor communication, and a complete lack of professionalism. Save yourself the headache, money, and find someone else.
Aug 14, 2025 · Hudson CucchiaraChris and his team are AWESOME!!!Very knowledgeable in the mold category: removal, treatment, and rebuilding. Dedicated hard workers, efficient, professional, and personable.Happy to answer any questions I had and communication was outstanding!Texted me everyday (7days) when they were on the way, and when they were leaving and sent photos when I couldn’t be there! My basement looks brand new and I couldn’t be more pleased. I would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend you do the same!!!
Oct 10, 2023 · Kimberly EvansDo not use this company. Inaccurate billing (overcharged labor), damage to showerhead, plaster on light fixture/walls, late twice, cancelled twice, lack of accountability, and poor customer service. 50% deposit was due prior to project start via emailed invoice. On 3 appointments, BBH Remediation was over 45 minutes late for 2 of the appointments, and canceled 2 other times. Estimate contract said it would take 3 days (June 17 - June 19). Due to cancelations, project took 7 total days (June 18 - June 24) leaving us without a household shower and bathroom for more than double what was written in the contract (this time frame was not updated or communicated to us). BBH refused to take accountability for the responsibility of the extended time frame (when no other findings or project discoveries caused any delay). BBH claimed they verbally discussed the project time frame, even though the contract said 3 days. They rarely communicated when being late/what they were currently working on, anything that we would need to know (spackle is messy - don't worry about it for now and we will clean it later) so I ended up cleaning it up. Workers tracked dirt and dust in and out of the house without taking shoes off, covering them, or cleaning it when they left each time, so I cleaned it after each visit. They broke our showerhead and refused to assist in fixing it saying they're not liable, and offered no alternative to try to make it right, and no remorse. 2 workers spent a total of maximum 4 hours each (more like 3.5) between the 3 visits, totaling 8 working hours, max. Original invoice was for 13 hours of labor. They refused to make any correction to the final balance due to account for the actual hours worked. When attempting to discuss the extended time frame via text and our frustration with it, Chris (the assumed owner) didn't respond. On a later phone call with Chris, he told my husband that "your wife sent a nasty text" when I addressed their late arrivals and cancellations. Upon project completion, we asked for an invoice to pay from, and Chris said it must be paid by credit card right then and there. I asked if we can get an invoice to look at first then pay after (like the 50% deposit) and he originally said no, and that if I don't pay today then he would have his lawyer contact me. After I said I would pay, he said yes I can send an invoice but it would be an extra $50. In the end, after asking if the final balance due could be reduced due to extended time frame, true up of working hours, and broken showerhead, Chris reluctantly offered $200 off the total remaining invoice (project was just shy of $3,900), but that, in our opinion, is still severely overcharging for actual work performed. BBH never took accountability or apologized for anything, and the work itself was sloppy, leaving spackle on the light fixture, gap between the molding, left their painters tape up, and overall messy craftsmanship.
Jun 25, 2025 · Shannon HayesChris (BBH owner) and his team were very professional and honest while working in my home. He gave me an honest quote and was great at communicating about the services he was providing and the timeline in which it would be done. This photo is where they cut out part of the wall, due to water damage, and then patched and color matched the paint. He and is team a punctual and respectful.
