Protecting Utah Homes: Why Choose a Local General Contractor for Emergency Restoration
Introduction / Overview
When unexpected disasters strike a Utah home, whether it’s a burst pipe during a freezing winter night or sudden, significant water damage from a plumbing malfunction, the need for a **reliable, quick-response general contractor** becomes paramount. For residents across the Wasatch Front and surrounding areas, addressing these emergencies requires a company that understands both the urgency of the situation and the necessary steps for complete, safe, and professional restoration. This is where a specialized contractor like **24 Hour** steps in.
Operating as a general contractor focused heavily on emergency services, 24 Hour specializes in comprehensive **Water Damage Restoration**. They are geared toward immediate response, a critical factor when dealing with water and moisture issues, as prompt action can significantly reduce structural damage, limit secondary problems like mold growth, and lower overall repair costs. As their name suggests, accessibility is a core promise, offering services to the community around the clock.
Their expertise spans the full lifecycle of a water emergency—from the initial water removal and cleanup to the intricate processes of mold mitigation and the final repairs and restoration needed to bring a property back to its pre-damage state. For Utah homeowners dealing with the stress of property damage, a contractor with this level of specialization can provide crucial peace of mind during a difficult time. They aim to be a single source for managing the complex process of returning a damaged property to normalcy, a critical service for homeowners often overwhelmed by coordinating multiple trades.
The scope of their work is extensive, touching on various critical aspects of property maintenance and restoration. This allows homeowners, particularly those navigating insurance claims related to water damage, to have a streamlined process. They are positioned to handle both the immediate crisis and the long-term restoration needs, making them a significant resource for the local community facing such unforeseen events. Their commitment is to rapid, effective deployment, minimizing the potential long-term harm caused by water intrusion.
Location and Accessibility
24 Hour is strategically located to serve the greater Salt Lake City area and surrounding communities, allowing for quick dispatch to emergencies across the Utah urban corridor. Their physical address is: **825 Gladiola St, Salt Lake City, UT 84104, USA**. This central location in the valley is a key asset, enabling them to offer their time-sensitive services effectively across the region.
Accessibility at their facility, which is often important for initial consultations or logistics, is considered. For customers or partners visiting the physical location, the provided information indicates they offer **Wheelchair accessible parking lot**. This demonstrates a commitment to ensuring all individuals can interact with the business as needed. However, given the nature of their work as a restoration service, most of their critical interactions are handled directly at the damaged property, emphasizing their **Onsite services** model. This is essential for a contractor specializing in emergencies; they come to you.
Their proximity to major Salt Lake City thoroughfares ensures that they can mobilize equipment and personnel rapidly, a non-negotiable requirement for true 24-hour service. For Utah residents, knowing a dedicated general contractor focused on restoration is centrally positioned is reassuring when time is of the essence.
The service model relies heavily on rapid response teams, utilizing their location to optimize travel times to residential and commercial properties dealing with active water emergencies. This local presence is invaluable, as it means they are familiar with Utah's unique housing structures, common plumbing issues related to local climate, and the specific permitting and regulatory environment, leading to a more efficient restoration process.

Features / Highlights
Selecting the right general contractor for a crisis involves looking at their key strengths and business practices. For 24 Hour, several features stand out, highlighting their focus on rapid, comprehensive emergency care in the Utah market:
24/7 Emergency Availability: The name is the promise. Being available around the clock is the most critical feature when dealing with active water damage, where every hour counts to prevent further harm.
Specialization in Water and Mold: Focusing heavily on water damage and its resulting issues (like mold) allows for deep, specialized expertise and efficient use of the correct equipment.
Onsite Services Model: They come to the customer, which is essential for emergency response, providing immediate help without requiring the damaged party to transport materials or manage logistics.
Comprehensive Restoration Services: Beyond cleanup, they act as a full general contractor offering repair and restoration, streamlining the process from disaster mitigation to final rebuild.
Local Utah Presence: Operating from Salt Lake City, they possess local knowledge of climate, housing, and structural requirements unique to the region.
Mixed Customer Feedback: Review data indicates a range of experiences, from appreciation for specific team members (like Chris, Ricky, and Isaiah) and satisfaction with results (e.g., replaced bathroom floors), to serious concerns about pricing, unnecessary work, and customer service follow-through. This highlights the importance for potential customers to clearly define the scope of work and maintain open communication throughout the process to ensure alignment with expectations.

What is Worth Choosing
For a Utah homeowner facing a stressful and damaging water emergency, choosing a general contractor like 24 Hour is primarily about securing **immediate, specialized response**. Their key value proposition is their 24/7 availability, which is non-negotiable in water damage scenarios. The rapid deployment of equipment for **Water Extraction** and **Drying** is the single most important factor in limiting long-term structural and biological damage (like mold).
Furthermore, their dual focus on **Water Damage Restoration** and **Mold Remediation** means they are equipped to handle the entire chain of consequences from a plumbing leak or flood. This comprehensive service model is worth choosing because it simplifies a complex, multi-stage recovery process, reducing the homeowner's burden of coordinating multiple tradespeople. Having a single general contractor to oversee the cleanup, mold control, and final repairs is a significant advantage in managing insurance claims and ensuring a cohesive restoration plan.
It's important to approach any service with transparency. While some customers have praised the results and helpfulness of specific team members (like Chris, Ricky, and Isaiah), highlighting good outcomes like replaced floors and a positive experience, others have raised serious flags regarding perceived ethical practices, unexpected costs, and poor communication (e.g., missed appointments and concerns about unnecessary or incomplete work). A prudent homeowner should, therefore, clearly define the scope of work, seek itemized estimates, and maintain detailed documentation and communication throughout the project. When satisfied customers are "impressed with the results" and the helpfulness of the team, it suggests that when the process is managed effectively, the specialized expertise of 24 Hour can yield positive outcomes.
In essence, Utah residents choose 24 Hour for the **emergency specialization** and the promise of a full-scope restoration service. The professionalism of staff members like Chris, Ricky, and Isaiah, noted in positive reviews, suggests that the quality of service is high when the right team is deployed. When seconds count in a water emergency, a local, specialized, 24-hour contractor is an invaluable resource, provided the customer engages with clear expectations and active oversight.
In conclusion, when a basement floods or a pipe bursts in the middle of the night, 24 Hour provides a necessary service: immediate general contracting expertise aimed at water damage mitigation and complete property restoration across the Utah region.
Always verify licensing and insurance and confirm all details in a written contract before authorizing work from any general contractor.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I don't often write reviews but I felt I needed to share some of our story to protect others from using 24 Hour Restoration and Action Plumbing.I made a huge mistake when I called Action Plumbing and then they called 24 Hour Restoration (I guess they are the same owners or working together in some manner.). This was all the result of a simple leak from our 1/2 bath.We have cameras showing them not following instructions from a supervisor and even not completing some of the work they charged us for. They scared my wife into signing a form giving them permission to rip out the tile and treat for mold (the leak was new and no reason for all the costs). They wanted about $8K to rip out the tile and replace for a 1/2 bath. Huge waste of money.Did a horrible job with horrible customer service (said they would come and would never show up, etc.). I could go on and on. One of the pictures I attached shows pieces of tile that went down our vent and toilet pipe. We ended up paying another company $500 just to clean the toilet pipe (including replacing a section of the pipe).I would highly recommend staying away from this company as they are not ethical in how they treat customers. Felt like they were just looking for an insurance payout.
Aug 16, 2025 · Mr. JTWe are impressed with the results.Chris with 24 Hour was easy to work with and very helpful. In the attached photos the bathroom floors were replaced. Ricky and Isaiah were very helpful in the process
Oct 10, 2024 · RyanyAbsolutely horrible experience! I had to ask at least 1/2 dozen times for mitigation bill. The mitigation itself was horrible, there was insulation everywhere. The plastic kept falling and causing dust and insulation to get everywhere. We had to literally throw away our area rug, clean our couches constantly (finally gave up till they were done for the most part). Had insulation and dust all over our kitchen (in cub bards, somehow even all over our pans, dishes and silverware). It took 3 weeks to get the rebuild started then another 2 weeks until done. Month and a half later and we are still not happy with the work. The paint was not the same finish as what we originally had and the wood was a different color and type as what our cabinets are. When we finally got the mitigation bill they tried saying we had the machines longer than we did. It was stated and billed that we had more machines than we did. The pictures that were sent to me and my insurance adjuster were not even my house. They tried billing more than industry standard, charged for services that were not rendered or included in the standards for the job at hand. So to say the least the work was crappy and tried billing fraudulent services be weary of this company. I wouldn’t suggest them to my worst enemy! Nightmare to work with! Not a very honest company.
