Disaster Relief Team Introduce
In South Florida, the term “disaster” can mean many things. It can refer to the aftermath of a major hurricane, an unexpected flood, or even the chaos of a dated, dysfunctional kitchen. For residents and property owners in the Miami area, having a reliable general contractor who can handle all these situations with professionalism and care is essential. Disaster Relief Team, based in Miami, aims to be that trusted partner. The company presents itself as a versatile general contractor, capable of not only responding to emergencies but also bringing your dream renovation projects to life with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
The company’s ability to handle both remodeling and restoration is a key aspect of its appeal. A customer review highlights their success with a major home remodel: “My husband and I bought a home and we needed a serious remodel. We contacted Disaster Relief Team and they came out and listened to all of my ideas and even showed us a 3D model of what it was going to look like. After the project started, Tony updated us daily with photos and they even finished faster then the projected time frame. Our new home looks even better than we expected from what we saw on the 3D model. Tony really paid attention to all details through the entire process and we are very happy and satisfied, I would definitely recommend them for any re-model project!” This glowing feedback showcases their dedication to client satisfaction, their use of modern tools like 3D modeling, and their strong communication skills, which are all vital for a successful remodeling project.
However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of the full spectrum of experiences other customers have had. Another review provides a different perspective on the company's performance, specifically in the context of hurricane restoration. The customer wrote, “They subcontracted with a New Jersey based contractor to do hurricane restoration in the Keys after Irma and our experience was horrible. There were days when there was no one on the job. The job sat for an entire month without any work being done. They billed us for encapsulation work that was never done and then argued that the work was done. Only after I removed some drywall to show them that they did not spray to encapsulate the wall did they acknowledge that it was not done. I have repeatedly asked for a refund of the $3000 they were paid for encapsulation. My requests have been ignored. Stay away, based on my experience these are not honest people.” This review points to a concerning issue with project management, communication, and billing, particularly when subcontracting work. It serves as a reminder for all local residents to conduct their own thorough due diligence and get detailed, written agreements before hiring any contractor, regardless of their specialization or the project's scale.
Disaster Relief Team's mission is to offer a comprehensive solution for property owners. As a general contractor, they aim to be a single point of contact for a variety of projects, from minor repairs to large-scale renovations. This can be a major benefit, as it simplifies a potentially complicated process and ensures a consistent standard of quality across all phases of the work. The positive review highlights their strength in managing a remodeling project from conception to completion, with excellent communication and a focus on detail. They are also equipped to handle the challenges of disaster relief, but the second review serves as a cautionary tale, emphasizing the importance of clear communication, diligent oversight, and transparent billing practices, especially in emergency situations where emotions are high and decisions are made quickly.
For locals, the company's presence in Miami positions them as a potentially convenient option for those in need of either an upgrade to their home or a quick response after a disaster. Their local knowledge of the area is a key asset, and their team is composed of professionals who understand the unique construction styles and regulations of South Florida. While the experiences of their clients vary, the positive feedback points to a company that can deliver beautiful results and great communication on specific types of projects, such as home remodels. It is clear that the company can provide high-quality work, but it is equally clear that the client experience can be inconsistent, making it vital for potential customers to ask detailed questions and secure firm commitments before any work begins.
Location and Accessibility
Disaster Relief Team is located at 22700 SW, Krome Ave, Miami, FL 33170, USA. This location on Krome Avenue gives them excellent access to the southern part of Miami-Dade County, as well as the Florida Keys, which are often heavily impacted by hurricanes and tropical storms. Their location is strategically positioned for quick response to emergencies in these areas. For local residents and businesses, having a contractor located nearby means they can expect a more rapid response to a crisis, a crucial factor in mitigating damage. In addition to their emergency services, their accessibility also makes them a convenient choice for residents in the area looking to start a new remodeling project. While the company's physical address is in Miami, their service area extends to cover a broad region, allowing them to serve a wide range of clients from their central hub.
Services Offered
Disaster Relief Team offers a diverse range of services, positioning them as a versatile general contractor for both planned projects and unforeseen disasters. - Commitment to Communication: In some cases, the company, particularly an individual named Tony, is noted for providing daily updates and photos to keep clients informed throughout the project.

Conclusion: Why This Place is Suitable for Locals
For residents of Miami and the greater South Florida area, Disaster Relief Team presents a complex but potentially valuable option. The company’s suitability for locals largely depends on the specific needs of the client and a careful approach to the hiring process. For those looking to undertake a home remodel, the positive review highlights a professional and communicative service that can deliver beautiful results, even exceeding expectations. The use of 3D modeling and the commitment to daily updates are major advantages for a remodeling project, providing a clear and transparent process that is highly desirable for homeowners.
However, in a region where disaster recovery is a common necessity, it is equally important to acknowledge the negative experience shared by another customer. This review serves as a reminder that clear communication, transparent billing, and a firm, written contract are absolutely essential, especially for restoration work that may involve subcontractors. While the company's name and location suggest they are well-suited for emergency relief, locals should take a proactive role in ensuring their project is managed to their satisfaction. For clients who do their due diligence and establish clear expectations, Disaster Relief Team can be a valuable partner for both transforming a home and restoring it after a disaster. Their local presence and reported strengths in remodeling make them a relevant option for the community, but the varying experiences underscore the importance of a well-informed decision.

Jul 15, 2019 · Robert RiceFrom my first impression thru the cleanup the DRT's team were professional looking, conducted themselves in a professional manner and left the penthouse unit clean. I can't say how very impressed I was with the job they did. The follow up report was impeccable and used to file the claim with the insurance company. After the leak, the team showed up at 20 minutes after our called. That night and magically, the smell was gone, the floors were clean and the air was breathable again. They are fully insured and our residents felt comfortable going home to sleep, while they worked thru the night. They left a few fans to make sure all the water dried up and explained how to file an insurance claim. The insurance adjuster approved that bill right away, he even mentioned that their charges were below or at the pre-approved amounts.Hire with confidence. The price was fair and the job was done beautifully. When disaster strikes and you need a cool head and can do attitude and that is exactly what this team brings to the table.Big thanks from our entire office.
