Total Home Performance LLC Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Homeowners across Maryland, particularly those on the Eastern Shore and surrounding areas, understand the unique challenges of maintaining an older home or maximizing the efficiency of a newer one. From seasonal temperature fluctuations that strain HVAC systems to the constant battle against moisture in crawl spaces and basements, a home is a complex system where one issue can quickly impact another. This is where a specialized general contractor like Total Home Performance LLC steps in. Far from being a generalist, this Easton, MD-based company operates as a full-service home performance contractor, approaching every project with a "whole-home as a system" philosophy.
Total Home Performance LLC specializes in key areas that directly impact a home's comfort, health, and energy bills. Their core competencies lie in advanced insulation, comprehensive crawl space encapsulation, energy-efficient HVAC services, and crucial structural repairs. This integrated approach means they don't just fix a symptom; they diagnose and resolve the root cause of issues like high energy costs, uneven temperatures, and poor indoor air quality. By blending the roles of an insulation contractor, HVAC expert, and structural engineer, Total Home Performance provides a seamless, streamlined process for homeowners looking for genuine, long-term property improvements.
One of the major highlights of their service is their expertise in securing valuable utility rebates. As a participating contractor with programs like Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®, they can guide Maryland customers through the process of obtaining substantial rebates from utility providers such as Delmarva Power and BGE, significantly reducing the out-of-pocket costs for major energy-saving upgrades. Their commitment is to transform homes into safer, healthier, and more cost-effective living spaces across Maryland.
Location and Accessibility
Total Home Performance LLC is centrally located in Easton, Maryland, making it an accessible hub for serving customers throughout the Eastern Shore and various other counties in the region, including Talbot, Queen Anne's, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester. Their physical office location is situated at 8625 Brooks Dr, Easton, MD 21601, USA. This positioning is strategic, allowing their expert crews to efficiently deploy for on-site services, energy assessments, and project installations across their service area.
While the contractor primarily performs services at the customer's residence (On-site services are a core offering), the office itself features practical accessibility considerations. This includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, ensuring that clients with mobility considerations can easily access the location for meetings or inquiries if necessary. For most homeowners, the relationship begins with the convenience of an on-site, in-depth evaluation and home energy audit, a service which the company is recognized for by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Features / Highlights
The contractor distinguishes itself in the Maryland home improvement market through a combination of technical expertise, customer-focused practices, and financial assistance programs. These highlights demonstrate their commitment to excellence and comprehensive service:
- Utility Rebate and Incentive Expertise: Total Home Performance LLC is a certified participating contractor with the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program. This allows them to help Delmarva Power and BGE customers qualify for substantial energy rebates, which can reach up to $10,000 or more for eligible improvements like insulation, air sealing, and heat pump installations. They assist customers in navigating the complex paperwork and often cover the costs upfront, significantly simplifying the process.
- Whole-Home System Approach: Unlike contractors who only focus on one area (e.g., HVAC or insulation), this company performs comprehensive diagnostic tests, such as Blower Door Testing and Thermal Imaging, to treat the house as a single, interdependent system. This approach ensures all home comfort and efficiency issues are addressed holistically, leading to more permanent and effective solutions.
- Certified Energy Auditing: The company is recognized for its Home Energy Auditing services by the U.S. Department of Energy, providing clients with a scientifically-backed assessment of their home's energy performance.
- Structural and Moisture Control Integration: They uniquely combine energy services with critical solutions like Structural Repair, Crawl Space Encapsulations, and Mold Remediation. For homes in coastal Maryland prone to moisture issues, this combination of services is vital for maintaining a healthy and safe indoor environment.
- Positive Customer Experience Emphasis: Many long-term customers report an "EXCELLENCE" in performance, citing the owner's personal involvement, professional and courteous crews, transparent quoting, and meticulous attention to detail. This focus on customer service builds trust, especially concerning complex and multi-phase projects.
- Handling Complex Projects: The crew has been noted for their skill in handling unforeseen issues, such as discovering and carefully reinforcing a load-bearing beam during a project while working around existing HVAC and plumbing lines.
What is Worth Choosing
For homeowners in Maryland, selecting Total Home Performance LLC is choosing a partner that looks beyond simple repairs to offer complete, enduring home transformation. Their integrated approach to home improvement is particularly valuable. When you have a damp crawl space, it often leads to uncomfortable indoor humidity, which forces your HVAC system to work harder, and can eventually cause structural damage or mold growth. A typical contractor might offer a quick fix for one of these problems—a new dehumidifier, for example, or a new HVAC unit—but without solving the underlying air and moisture intrusion issue, the problems will persist.
Total Home Performance's worth lies in their ability to offer a single, unified solution. They perform a Home Energy Audit to scientifically diagnose the problems, encapsulate the crawl space to eliminate the moisture source, seal and insulate the air barrier to improve energy efficiency, and then, if necessary, install a correctly-sized, high-efficiency Heat Pump. This full-spectrum service simplifies the renovation process for the homeowner, eliminating the stress of coordinating multiple contractors and ensuring that all improvements work together seamlessly as a system.
Furthermore, their established position as a participating contractor for Delmarva Power and BGE rebates is a massive financial advantage for Maryland residents. The ability to secure thousands of dollars in rebates, which the company often manages and helps cover upfront, transforms an expensive, essential home upgrade into a financially sensible investment. While some past customer feedback suggests the necessity of getting every detail in writing for complex jobs like crawlspace encapsulation, the overwhelmingly positive testimonials, professionalism, and ability to handle both energy efficiency and structural/moisture issues—often simultaneously—makes them a uniquely qualified and highly recommended choice for a comprehensive home upgrade in the Maryland region.
The immediate results reported by customers, such as a more comfortable home, a fresher smell, and noticeable difference in heating/cooling, confirm that their science-backed, whole-house methodology delivers tangible quality-of-life improvements that extend beyond just a lower utility bill.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Total Home Performance is a top-tier company when it comes to professionalism and quality service. The owner, Derek, personally met with me and conducted a thorough inspection of our home, even completing our energy audit the same day.I especially appreciated that Derek provided a clear baseline quote along with optional add-ons. He was never pushy—in fact, he often pointed out when we didn’t need certain items we were asking about. That level of honesty really set him apart. Thanks to THP, we qualified for the maximum Delmarva rebate of $10,000. They handled every step of the process—from the paperwork to covering costs upfront—which greatly reduced our out-of-pocket expense. The project coordinator, Logan, kept everything on track and on schedule. The team was excellent about confirming big project milestones in advance, which gave us a lot of peace of mind.During the project, they uncovered a structural issue and carefully worked around HVAC and plumbing lines while reinforcing a load-bearing beam. The workmanship was exceptional, and the crew was not only skilled but also courteous and respectful—people you’d truly feel comfortable having in your home.We noticed an immediate improvement after the added attic insulation. The house feels more comfortable, and even smells fresher.I can’t recommend Total Home Performance highly enough.
Sep 12, 2025 · Colin GallagherI would not recommend this company for crawlspace encapsulation. The workers were hard-working but not very skilled, and multiple times a manager had to come out to correct mistakes.Biggest issue: they didn’t fully complete the job. Even though site manager Ivan agreed during the proposal that certain things would be done, the company later refused, saying, “If it’s not written in the contract, we won’t do it.” That’s misleading and frustrating. They also installed a crawlspace well below grade (which would have caused flooding until I pushed to have it fixed) and left a large gap under a basement door they promised would be airtight. Only at the final inspection did they tell me I’d need to buy a whole new door—something never mentioned during the proposal. On the positive side, the quality control inspector who did the final walkthrough was very knowledgeable and understanding of all the issues I raised. He was willing to fix some mistakes, but his hands were tied on items not spelled out in the contract. While communication was decent, the quality of work, lack of follow-through, and overcharging were very disappointing.Advice: Get every detail in writing, ask a lot of questions, and don’t rely on verbal promises. Otherwise, you risk paying for an incomplete encapsulation.
Sep 08, 2025 · KerriThey did a great job from start to finish. Going over the details when we first started talking about this two years ago to when we pulled the trigger to start. It was all done so smoothly. We have a house that is over 20 years old on a crawlspace that was built over from an original house. The old pink insulation was horrible and now we have a cleaned out well insulated area that we joke we can almost live in. In picture below we added black mat just for extra protection for our storage bins of Christmas stuff. I would not hesitate to work with Total Home Perfomance!
Jul 10, 2025 · Kim RadvanWe were somewhat apprehensive using Total Home Performance for our crawl space encapsulation since it was a large budget commitment but overall the work was performed professionally and was well worth the funds spent for this project. The project was well explained, started and completed as scheduled and workers were friendly and professional.Supervisors came on a daily basis to evaluate the work process and discussed with us if we had any issues with the work being done or with the workers.Overall, very happy with all aspects of THP performance with our project.
Aug 20, 2025 · David ZarubaI was very pleased with the work done by Total Home Performance. Our crawlspace was in need of help and the encapsulation was the answer. The crews were very efficient in every part of the job. The site was cleaned up every day and the finished job has made a big difference in our house. I would recommend them for your needs,
