The Referee Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you’re reading bad reviews for this company they are more than true! I’m currently trying to get a refund from them not for filling their obligation to doing the work they advertised! The only good thing was that they were on time and flexible with their schedule! The work looks like 3 blind mice did it! How they get to remain on a referral list is crazy! If they don’t respond to the refund request with contractor connections I will file a lawsuit along with damages for mental anguish because it should not be this difficult to get a refund when you didn’t get the job done! I will make State Farm as a defendant as well and hopefully get them banned from all referrals! I wish I would have looked up reviews I would not be in this position! I’m currently speaking with news I team investigators here to connect with the news in Wayne Michigan if they refuse to give me a refund!
Jul 25, 2025 · Derick WigginsThey were referred by State farm and we are so sorry we got them. It took them 18 months, for a 6 month job, to do a poor job of restoration on our water damaged home. When our insurance agent came to see what was done he recommended they be removed from State farms list. 12 things were left undone when they said they were all done.
Nov 19, 2024 · Lynn CursonEdit: Since I originally made this review, the contractor and I have come to an agreement on payment for what work was completed and I have received a refund check. It does not change what happened, but at least we were able to negotiate a parting of the ways that I found fair and will let me seek someone of my choosing to do the work that Restoration Referee couldn't or wouldn't. So I am upping this to two stars for working with me to come to a solution, but leaving everything else here because this was my experience with them and I am not going to hide that things went like this. Anyone who comes along should be informed about it everything that happened to me as well as to the people who were happy with the work so they can make informed decisions.------------My original review, before a resolution was reached:My insurance company chose this company for repairs in my insurance claim for flood damage. They showed up, after several months, and did a small amount of demolition, not even close to all of it, and broke my three year old refrigerator so it had to be replaced. They never came back to complete demolition. They never had the electrician out to take a look at the electrical shorts that keep us from using our living room. The flood was mixed sewage and water, and the point was to get all the affected spots replaced before they could start growing mold and fungus that put our health at risk. We are still living in this. My second story smells like sewage and mold where they haven't bothered to take up the affected carpet and carpet padding. The flood happened in July 2021. The small amount of stuff that they did demo was in September of 2021. It is now November of 2022, and all I get is more promises that the electrician will be there and the demo will be finished with no progress at all. They have stopped responding to emails. The phone rings and rings without being answered. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. I will be looking into taking them to court to get what the insurance paid them back and find someone who will actually do the work they're hired to do. This isn't a contractor. It's a scam artist, and I feel like a big, national chain like my insurance company should have been more aware and careful in their selection, but that's a whole other review to make.If I could give them 0 stars and write this warning, I would. They do not deserve even 1 star,
Aug 05, 2023 · Olivia Sander (O. Sander)Mark and his team were referred to us by Allstate. We had water damage on the ceiling and in the kitchen as a result of an overflow valve not connected in the bathtub upstairs. Mark responded quickly and his team repaired the damage professionally and courteously. They responded quickly and once the area was dry the drywall was repaired, the plumbing was repaired and his response to all of my calls was quick, pleasant and efficient. I would definitely recommend Restoration Referee.
Sep 28, 2020 · Carolyn CapassoOur sub pump failed during the last storm flooding our basement. The people from Restoration Referee were able to come, had removed the carpet and placed dehumidifiers and fans within less than 24 hours. Because of their prompt and efficient service we were able to limit the damage and had no mold. They were quick, friendly, and professional. I hope that I never have another disaster where I need to call them, but if I do, the people at Restoration Referee are the first people I will call. Thank you for all your help.
