ProCare Restoration Services, Inc. Introduce
Welcome to the essential guide for homeowners and property managers across Michigan, particularly those in the Kentwood and greater Grand Rapids area, who are navigating the complex process of property restoration. When disaster strikes—be it a burst pipe, a fire, or severe storm damage—the path back to normalcy often requires the expertise of a reliable, full-service general contractor. This is where a company like ProCare Restoration Services, Inc. comes in, offering specialized services that go beyond simple cleanup to include full-scale reconstruction.
ProCare Restoration Services, Inc. is positioned as a general contractor focused on providing comprehensive restoration and reconstruction solutions. While the initial devastation of property damage can be overwhelming, partnering with a contractor that handles both the immediate cleanup and the final rebuild can streamline a challenging process. They categorize their core business as a general contractor specializing in Fire Damage Restoration, Water Damage Restoration, and general Building Restoration services. This broad scope is critical for property owners who need a single point of contact to manage the entire project from start to finish, which is often essential when dealing with insurance claims.
Selecting the right contractor in a stressful, post-disaster situation is one of the most important decisions you will make. It can significantly impact the final quality of work, the timeline for your return home or reopening of your business, and the overall management of your insurance claim. In Michigan, where severe weather can cause frequent damage, having an experienced general contractor who understands the nuances of full-scale restoration is invaluable.

Features / Highlights
Choosing a contractor for property restoration can be daunting, but understanding the key features a company provides can simplify the decision. ProCare Restoration Services, Inc. presents several highlights that define their service delivery model, particularly their capacity to handle complex, all-in-one restoration projects.
- Full-Scope General Contractor: The company's primary designation as a General Contractor specializing in restoration means they manage the entire scope of work, from the initial emergency response and cleanup to the final reconstruction and building restoration. This alleviates the property owner's need to hire and coordinate multiple specialized contractors.
- Comprehensive Restoration Focus: Unlike standard general contractors, their core expertise is rooted in handling Fire Damage, Water Damage, and secondary issues like Mold Mitigation, which are the most common and complex forms of residential and commercial property disaster in Michigan.
- Emergency and Disaster-Focused Services: The extensive list of services, including Emergency Response, Disaster Recovery, and Boarding Up, highlights a critical feature—the ability to act immediately to mitigate damage and secure a property, which is vital for preventing further loss and satisfying insurance requirements.
- Commercial and Residential Capacity: Their services are not limited to single-family homes but extend to a variety of commercial and multi-unit properties, such as apartment complexes, hospitals, and assisted living facilities, demonstrating a versatile capability for large-scale projects.
- Accessibility and Local Presence: The physical location in Kentwood, MI, ensures a strong local presence in the West Michigan region. What is Worth Choosing
When facing significant property damage in Michigan, choosing a contractor for restoration is a high-stakes decision that requires careful due diligence. What makes ProCare Restoration Services, Inc. a choice worth considering for West Michigan property owners is their one-stop-shop approach to disaster recovery. By consolidating Fire Damage, Water Damage, and complete Building Restoration under a single general contractor, they offer a streamlined project management experience. This is especially beneficial because restoration work is not just construction—it involves emergency response, content cleaning, specialized drying and decontamination, and navigating the often-complex world of insurance claims. A contractor with comprehensive service offerings is capable of maintaining continuity of work, which theoretically leads to faster project completion and more seamless coordination between the initial cleanup and the final rebuild.
However, it is vital to approach any major contractor selection with a comprehensive review of their performance history. While the described scope of work is professionally broad and encompasses all necessary steps for full recovery—from immediate security and cleanup to final remodeling—potential clients should always perform thorough research. An analysis of public reviews for this contractor suggests that, while initial contacts and some individual staff members may be highly regarded, there have been documented instances of significant customer dissatisfaction. These complaints mention poor workmanship, the company's refusal to resolve issues without further payment, and major delays and communication breakdowns in project timelines, sometimes taking months longer than expected.
As a Michigan consumer, it is important to remember your rights and the risks associated with poor-quality contracting. Issues like incomplete drying, which can lead to hidden mold, shoddy workmanship resulting in construction defects (like slanting floors or drafty windows), and failure to honor original commitments are known problems in the industry and have been specifically cited in relation to this company. Before committing to a contract, especially one involving a complex insurance claim, a property owner should always:
- Request and Vet References: Ask for contact information from recent clients whose projects match the complexity of your own.
- Verify Licensing and Insurance: Ensure the general contractor is properly licensed with the State of Michigan and carries adequate liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
- Demand a Detailed Contract: The contract should clearly specify the scope of work, materials to be used, the total cost, and a realistic timeline with defined payment milestones tied to completed work, not just upfront fees.
- Consult a Third-Party Professional: Consider having an independent home inspector or restoration consultant review the scope of work and, potentially, the completed work to ensure all moisture is properly mitigated and reconstruction meets industry standards.
In summary, ProCare Restoration Services, Inc. offers the structure and wide range of services necessary for a complete disaster restoration and rebuild project in West Michigan. However, the decision to engage them should be tempered with the knowledge of past customer feedback, reinforcing the universal principle that rigorous due diligence is the best protection for any property owner undertaking major restoration work.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We did not have a good experience with ProCare Restoration. We definitely will not use them again for any reason. They did work for us on our bathroom back in early March. We've had one problem after another with that bathroom since they completed the job MONTHS ago. Since then, THREE different contractors have all told us that ProCare did an extremely shoddy job with the entire project. ProCare has refused to resolve any of the issues for us, unless we agreed to pay them more money, which is definitely NOT happening. So we now have to have a DIFFERENT contractor come and fix everything for us, which means that we had to file another insurance claim. It's been a nightmare. Would NOT recommend this company!!!
Sep 02, 2020 · Jennifer HansenUpdate: As of April 2024 I have had nothing but issues with my slider I bought from these people. Lindsay Windows based out of Illinois instead of using local is one of the worst places and does not honor a warranty. Three times I have had to have Matt McLauhlin, from SAHR, Dan from Lindsay Windows and now a Carlos they claimed to be one of their most specialised individuals who admitted to not knowing the first thing about a 3 panel slider. Then he wants to try and do the exact same thing previously which didn’t fix the slider. Granted it’s under a 10 year warranty and these guys now want to charge me another $1500 for another slider when this one has been defective since first installed. I will be taking them to court since they don’t want to rectify the issue. Nothing like having cold drafts coming through your slider because it’s bowed out and they want to put another weather strip in which didn’t work the first time. Don’t think you can get a phone call back but I will say ProCare and Lindsay Windsows are the worst and do not do business. See you all in court.I’ve been dealing with this company since April 2019 when I first called. Gary is awesome and went above and beyond. The problem is the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. Bruno comes to my place and tells me he will have a friend come out to look at my slider that took 6 months. My place went through mold remediation on September 9th.my living room furniture stayed in my dining room and spare room while plastic covered my walls until just after Thanksgiving when I finally had enough and called another company to do the work. I flat out told Chris Gage I felt as though I was being screwed over and would put the money on my credit card if I had too. Finger pointing and never responding or taking as long as they did to do nothing to my place and then having found more mold in a part of the wall they were supposed to have removed with the mold remediation. Would love to give them 5 stars for all the broken promises but this last one with a $3,350 slider takes the cake when it was installed and has a draft. Now I wait again for them to act. I’m so disappointed in them in how they handled this whole situation. Bruno telling me I had textured ceilings etc. I don’t. Make sure you know whose place you’re at when you’re coming up with estimates. Great guys just fall short on getting the job done that took another company a few weeks. Doesn’t help when you look at the reviews & see Chris Gage is on here giving 5 stars for their own company when he doesn’t seem to know what they do there.
Apr 02, 2024 · K KAbsolutely amazing! These guys are the best and I highly recommend!!!! I called today and spoke with Chris about a problem I’ve been having. He had a guy out working a few hours to take care of it. Obviously they are busy and I called at the right time to get in. But I cannot thank them enough! Oh and The tech Gary! Most personable awesome guy I’ve ever met! Hands down definitely recommending to anyone who wants a very professional experience!
Mar 01, 2019 · Christopher HansenMy rental home was destroyed after renters had multiple cats. Procare Restoration Services came out the next day, assessed the damage. We talked about what needed to be done in the most effective, yet economical way. He gave me a quote which was extremely reasonable and completed the work over the weekend, documenting the process with photos which he sent to me. I did not think it was possible to remove the cat odor, but it is gone. I WILL hire him again for many reasons, but the thing that sticks out the most in my mind is integrity. What they said they would do, they did, on time and for the price quoted.
Jun 16, 2016 · BethThere are two sides of the company, mitigation and restoration. Mitigation did a good job drying things out in a timely manner and said that restoration would come along afterwards to repair the damage. Never heard from their restoration folks even after myself and my insurance broker both reached out to them multiple times. Looking for someone else to do the repairs now.
