What is Worth Choosing: A Focus on Specialized Expertise
For Connecticut users, the choice of a specialist like Orange Restoration Labs comes down to the value and nature of the item needing care. This service is a compelling choice for garments that demand a level of expertise, dedication, and technology beyond what a typical dry cleaner or laundry service can provide.
The most significant benefit lies in their specialization in wedding gown and vintage garment restoration and preservation. These items are often heirlooms and cannot be replaced. The company’s accreditation and written international guarantee offer a significant assurance that the gown will not yellow or be damaged over time, providing peace of mind that your investment in your special day is protected. Furthermore, the commitment to the MuseumCare™ ZeroCarbon™ process demonstrates a blend of high-end, museum-quality preservation standards with an important focus on eco-friendly practices—a notable factor for environmentally conscious clients.
Additionally, their capacity as an expert resource for fire and water damage restoration of textiles makes them a valuable partner during property emergencies. When a home suffers a disaster, salvaging treasured or high-value garments requires immediate, expert attention, and Orange Restoration Labs is equipped to handle this critical and often overlooked aspect of disaster recovery.
While one customer review cited a poor customer service experience involving communication and shipping issues despite being satisfied with the cleaning, it’s important to weigh this against the company's strong reputation, accreditation, and the consistently high praise for the flawless quality of the actual restoration work. In the specialty care industry, the technical expertise—the ability to restore a delicate, decades-old dress—is paramount. Customers, like the one who confidently trusted them with 'precious or irreplaceable pieces and delicate fabrics,' often highlight this core competence as the primary reason for choosing the lab. The decision to use Orange Restoration Labs is essentially a choice to prioritize a highly specialized, technically accredited service for your most valued and irreplaceable garments in the Connecticut area.
If you have a vintage gown that has turned yellow or a bridal dress you want to last a lifetime, their distinct specialty and certifications make them a leading option in the state.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The quality of restoration for my 80’s wedding gown was flawless. I would confidently trust them with precious or irreplaceable pieces and delicate fabrics.Ernst was always very friendly and accommodating, providing discounts for return customers. The pricing seemed fair and in line with the average.Thank you !
Aug 10, 2025 · Marine Fabre (MarFab)Only sent my mum’s wedding gown here because I seen it on “The Knot” & it had such great reviews. However I had an overall poor experience. Such poor customer service, literally appalling. Had the audacity to charge more than the dress was worth, at a whopping $790+ for a “heavily soiled” gown (the only restoration I needed was to make the aged dress white again, no tears, rips, or major staining), but I obliged because I needed my mother’s wedding gown professionally cleaned. You’d expect exceptional quality and exquisite customer care for this price, but I was met with the opposite. I expressed many concerns over communication through email, which dwindled to no responses on their end. I called & was told “no emails were received”. I know how emails work & I indeed was contacting with the same email address that communication had been made through the entire time. I called wondering where my dress was. This is April 22nd at this point. I was told my dress would be here by the end of April.Regardless, the person gives me an unusual response. My dress has “been done & has been ready to ship out”… this was exactly what I was told.Okay perfect, not sure why it would still be hanging in their warehouse if it’s “been done”. Whatever, I’m just happy that my gown is finished. At this point, I was told it would be shipped out the following day (meaning April 23). This however, was a LIE. I texted the following Monday asking for tracking info because I found it suspicious that it never came over the weekend. I’m only an hour away from their location. I was given a number and lo and behold, it’s not an active tracking number meaning fedex does NOT have my package. I immediately contact them to address this and I’m met with “oh are you sure?” Instead of accepting ownership at this point, they insisted there must be some issue. The issue was they never brought FedEx my package at this point! The desk girl quite literally responded with “isn’t your wedding not until September?” What is the relevancy??? After this conversation is when she actually shipped my gown out.All attempts to speak to a manger have been disregarded. The dress is indeed clean, but I’m nowhere satisfied with the customer treatment.I was quite lax and communicated effectively, couldn’t imagine if I was a difficult customer/case how they would’ve treated me! What a horror show. Here I was taking I would be sending the gown back to be preserved + professionally cleaning my baptism gown 😂I’ll be going to any local ma + pa shop now & I recommend the same to you haha
Apr 29, 2025 · AlyssaOrange Restoration Labs was recommended to me by the seamstress who worked on my dress. Needless to say, they did an amazing job with my dress. Ellen was so wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend them for any service!
Jul 18, 2022 · Alyssa AddonaSally knows what she is doing. Her home is welcoming, her attitude is confident, and her work speaks for itself. I entrusted her with fixing up my precious Grandma’s 60+ year old, hand-made, Italian wedding dress. The pictures attached show the before and after. And if it doesn’t get MORE insane, she took off all of the silk buttons while cleaning the dress and then sewed them all back on. I cannot wait for the day I walk down the aisle in this dress, and I cannot thank her enough.
Jan 27, 2020 · Cassandra FurterI came to Sally with a request. Can you repair and restore a veil that is 180 years old? “Bring it over and we’ll take a look,” she said. Together we spent an hour or more looking through books and examining this family heirloom. Sally with her knowledge and skill took a grayish somewhat damaged textile and restored into its original beauty. When this was placed on my daughter’s head, the air seemed to escape the room. Sally, your knowledge, skill and extraordinary craftsmanship is something the wedding world must know about! I’m grateful to have met you.
