KW Construction & Restoration- Leadville Introduce
Welcome to the essential guide for Central Colorado residents and property owners seeking reliable and experienced construction and restoration services. When disaster strikes—whether it’s fire, water, wind, or mold—or when you’re ready to embark on a custom construction or remodeling project, finding a full-service, local general contractor is paramount. In this article, we take a closer look at KW Construction & Restoration, based right here in Leadville, a company that has been serving the unique needs of the Colorado community for decades.
For anyone in Lake County and the surrounding mountain and central regions, KW Construction & Restoration represents a comprehensive solution for both emergency disaster mitigation and quality construction work. Their history in the region and extensive service offerings position them as a key player in helping homeowners and businesses recover from unexpected damage and realize their construction dreams.
KW Construction & Restoration is a full-service, licensed general contractor operating across Central Colorado, with an office strategically located in historic Leadville. Since 1988, this Colorado-owned company has built a reputation not just for construction, but for specialized disaster restoration, making them a crucial resource in a region prone to severe weather and mountain challenges. They are equipped to handle everything from the initial emergency response and cleanup to the final reconstruction and remodeling of a property.
The company prides itself on offering a seamless experience, especially when dealing with complex insurance claims after an event like a flood or fire. Their dual focus on construction and restoration means they can manage the entire project lifecycle, from mitigating immediate damage to the full rebuild, aiming to restore homes and businesses to their pre-damaged condition or even better.
It is important for prospective clients to note that while the company reports positive feedback from many clients, including high customer satisfaction ratings on its own platform, its Better Business Bureau (BBB) profile for the Leadville location does currently show an "Accreditation Suspension" alert. This means potential customers should be sure to perform their own due diligence, review all available information, and directly discuss any concerns about their quality of work or warranty process, especially considering the detailed negative review regarding a new construction home's radiant heat and warranty issue. Conversely, there are customer testimonials specifically praising the team's professionalism and the quality of their work on additions and restoration projects, highlighting the importance of looking at both sides of a business’s public profile.
The Leadville office of KW Construction & Restoration serves as a central hub for their operations in the high country and surrounding areas. This location is vital for providing rapid emergency response throughout a wide service area that covers much of Central Colorado.
The service area is extensive, including—but not limited to—Lake County (Leadville, Twin Lakes), Summit County (Breckenridge, Frisco, Dillon, Silverthorne), Chaffee County (Salida, Buena Vista), Eagle County (Vail, Avon, Edwards), Park County, El Paso County (Colorado Springs), Gunnison County, Fremont County, Hinsdale County, Saguache County, and Teller County. This broad geographic reach ensures that a local, experienced team is available to assist many of the mountain and front-range communities.
The Leadville physical address is:
607 US-24, Leadville, CO 80461, USA
Being located right on US-24 allows for relatively easy access and efficient deployment of crews to critical jobs along key Colorado corridors. They also maintain other offices, such as in Colorado Springs and Salida, further enhancing their regional coverage.

Choosing a general contractor in a demanding environment like Central Colorado requires a partner who understands local conditions, building codes, and the urgency of disaster recovery. KW Construction & Restoration’s value lies in its full-service model. For homeowners who experience a pipe burst or fire, the stress is immense. Having one company that can stop the emergency, clean up the mess, handle the contents, and then manage the entire construction rebuild—all while working with the insurance carrier—offers a significant advantage in simplifying a complex, multi-stage process.
The long-standing presence in Colorado since 1988, combined with a broad service territory and multiple local offices, speaks to their capacity and commitment to the region. The in-house custom cabinet shop adds a desirable feature for those focused on high-quality, personalized kitchen and bath remodels. Furthermore, praise for specific construction managers and successful restoration jobs indicates a commitment to delivering professional project results.
As with any construction decision, prospective clients should balance the comprehensive service offering and positive testimonials from successful projects with the serious concerns raised in the public record regarding warranty follow-through and the BBB status. For those in Colorado dealing with damage or planning a significant construction project, KW Construction & Restoration presents an established, full-spectrum option, but thorough vetting and clear communication on warranty and repair timelines should be a priority before engagement. Ultimately, their ability to be an all-in-one resource for both disaster recovery and custom building makes them a relevant choice for the diverse needs of property owners across Central Colorado.
The critical importance of a 24/7 response team in mountain towns cannot be overstated, and their dedication to rapid emergency mitigation is perhaps the most crucial element worth choosing in a crisis. When minutes matter to save a structure from water or fire damage, having a locally established and equipped team can be the difference between a minor repair and a total loss.

KW Construction & Restoration- Leadville Reviews
I wish I wasn't posting a 1 star review, however this seems to be the only way to get the attention of businesses like KW these days. Just look at their suspended accreditation status on Better Business Bureau that tells you all you need to know. I also write this as forewarning to those considering purchasing a home from KW in Leadville. Buyer beware.I purchased a new construction home from KW in Leadville in the spring of 2024. The home was sold to me by KW and Aspen Leaf Realty with a defective radiant heat system.Since the beginning of the 2024-25 winter, during the home's 1 year warranty period, KW has been aware that the radiant heat system they installed at my home was not done correctly. This has unfortunately led to several issues with the home.On the home's first floor, the radiant heat system cannot maintain a comfortable living temperature. It runs constantly throughout the day and still drops 5-10 degrees each night. To even hope to approach a comfortable living temperature of 68-72 degrees, the radiant boiler (a Navien system) has to run at over 180+ degrees, which undermines the efficiency of a radiant heating system in general (as context, radiant should run between 125-140 degrees max.)Due to the 180-degree operating temperature, the radiant system cannot operate in the basement zone (it is split into two zones in my house), where the temperature must be kept under 140 degrees so as to not damage the concrete floor.Because of the 180 temperature, we've also experienced repeated separation damage in the first-floor vinyl flooring. This happens because of the high temperature in the radiant tubes.I requested KW examine the system with a trusted local plumbing and heating contractor, and the contractor discovered the following: The amount radiant tubing in the system is inadequate to heat the home. There was an insufficient amount of correct insulation installed in the system to retain heat and direct heat upwards to the first floor of the home.KW has ignored repeated email and phone communications since winter 24-25 from me to schedule a repair to fix this. This review is written in September 2025. That gives you all the context you need to know that this simple fix is being ignored.I write this one star review (and would be happy to remove it) once KW actually honors their warranty and fixes this problem. But given their reputation, whether that happens is dubious.
Sep 16, 2025 · Benji GadberryMike Sebestyen was the construction manager on the finish of our addition. He did an amazing job start to finish.I would definitely use KW Construction for any future improvements to my property.I would recommend Mike & his team for any construction project!
Jan 10, 2022 · Nathan BluettGreat customer service! They immediately came out to mitigate my sewer overflow. Each person that came out was professional and personable. They all worked constantly to get the job done. They covered the flooring & furniture to protect them from dust & debri. They communicated with me each time they were coming to the house or of any delays.I appreciate Paul, Kyle & Jen among all of the others! Highly recommended.
Feb 01, 2025 · Debra and Bill WeeksKW responded quickly to mitigate water damage and prep for restoration. Jennifer and the whole mitigation were very professional, thorough and timely. I continued our engagement with the KW team by contracting for reconstruction services. Mike led the reconstruction team and once again I was very pleased with their professional approach, thoroughness and “can do” attitude. In all regards I especially appreciated the pro-active project management approach. I would definitely hire KW for future requirements.
Oct 04, 2023 · Daniel PillingThey provided a quote for remediation work which was priced more than double what another company offered. I let KW know how much more their cost was—which I simply couldn't afford—and told them I was still interested in their reconstruction services and work to prevent future damage to my home. They seemed knowledgeable and professional. After a month of me calling and emailing trying to get the reconstruction quote after they visited my home again to prepare it, they finally sent me a very brief email saying they wouldn't be providing an estimate, no reason given. I assume it was because they were offended that I went with the cheaper company for the remediation, but regardless of the rationale, it shouldn't have taken them that long to respond after I tried to get an answer from them repeatedly and was told they'd be in touch several times.
