Groundworks Introduce
Hello, Texas residents! When you notice cracks in your walls, doors that stick, or uneven floors, it's often a sign that the very foundation of your home needs attention. For homeowners in San Antonio and the wider Texas area, finding a reliable and professional general contractor who specializes in these crucial repairs is a top priority. Groundworks has established itself as a leading name in this specialized field, offering a wide array of services designed to protect and restore the integrity of your home from the ground up. With a focus on foundation repair, crawl space solutions, and concrete lifting, Groundworks provides customized and thorough solutions that are essential for maintaining the long-term health and value of your property.
The unique soil conditions and climate of Texas, characterized by expansive clay soils and periods of extreme weather, can put significant stress on a home's foundation. This is where a specialized company like Groundworks becomes an invaluable resource. They understand the specific challenges faced by Texas homeowners and have developed tailored solutions to address them. This article will provide a detailed look at what makes Groundworks a go-to choice for locals, from their service offerings to their customer-focused approach. They aren't just about fixing problems; they're about providing lasting peace of mind.
Groundworks is conveniently located at 18630 Goll St, San Antonio, TX 78266, USA. This location positions them as a local expert, deeply familiar with the specific soil types and building challenges common in the San Antonio area and throughout Texas. Their physical presence in the community allows them to provide timely inspections and responsive service, which is particularly critical when dealing with time-sensitive issues like foundation problems. For local homeowners, having a trusted contractor right in their backyard means a faster, more personal, and more reliable experience. This accessibility ensures that their teams can be on-site promptly to assess issues and begin work, minimizing potential damage and the stress it can cause.
The company’s local expertise is one of its most significant assets. They have an intimate understanding of the sandy loam and clay soils that comprise Bexar County, and they know how these soils can affect a home's foundation over time. This specialized knowledge allows them to diagnose problems accurately and implement solutions that are not only effective but also durable and designed to withstand the unique environmental pressures of the region. Their local team is part of the community they serve, giving them a vested interest in providing the highest quality work and customer service.
Groundworks is more than just a general contractor; they are a specialized service provider focusing on the core structural components of a home. Their services are designed to address a range of issues from the ground up.
- Foundation Repair: This is a primary service, addressing critical issues caused by shifting soils and environmental factors. They use patented solutions to provide high-quality pier and beam and slab foundation repair, aiming for permanent results. Their process begins with a free, no-obligation inspection to develop a customized plan.
- Crawl Space Repair: Many homes have crawl spaces that are susceptible to moisture, mold, and humidity, which can lead to structural problems. Groundworks offers comprehensive crawl space repair and encapsulation services, including vapor barriers, to ensure a healthy and stable environment under the home.
- Concrete Lifting and Leveling: Uneven or sinking concrete around the home, such as in driveways, sidewalks, and pool decks, can be a safety hazard and an aesthetic issue. They provide specialized poly foam concrete lifting, which is tailored for Texas concrete, to restore stability and appearance.
- Basement Waterproofing: For homes with basements, Groundworks offers waterproofing solutions to prevent flooding and moisture damage, protecting the structural integrity of the home and preventing the growth of mold.
- Commercial Services: In addition to residential work, they also extend their expertise to commercial properties, providing foundation and repair services that businesses can rely on.
Several key features and highlights distinguish Groundworks as a top choice for foundation and concrete work in Texas. These aspects are often cited in customer feedback and reflect their core values.
- Customized and Thorough Solutions: They are known for not offering one-size-fits-all fixes. The sales team, as one customer noted, takes the time to understand the nuances of an old home to create a phased, approachable, and customized solution that aligns with the homeowner’s goals.
- Professional and Prompt Installation Crews: The installation crews are consistently praised for their professionalism, punctuality, and a willingness to answer all questions. They are courteous and maintain a clean work area, often leaving the yard and landscaping looking "untouched."
- Clear Communication: Customers highlight excellent communication from the sales team to the installation crews. They keep homeowners informed "every step of the way," which is crucial for big projects and builds confidence.
- Strong Customer Focus: The company is family-owned and committed to positive customer service. They strive to provide the best repair solutions and a good experience. However, it's worth noting that this commitment to customer service may not be universally consistent, as one review pointed out a miscommunication regarding their policy on homes under warranty. This shows the importance of clear communication from the very first point of contact.
- Comprehensive Cleanup: A significant highlight is their attention to the final stages of the project. The crews ensure that the job site is clean and tidy after the work is completed, which is a major positive for homeowners who want their property restored to its original condition.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Working with Groundworks was wonderful from start to finish. It began with the sales team, Rich G, ensuring my old, quirky home had a customized and thorough solution, phased out to make the job more approachable. Rich took the time to understand my goals for the project and the nuances of my house even though that took significant time and multiple trips to my home. The installation crew (Jose N., Phil S., Diego A.) was professional, prompt and answered ALL of my questions. Their communication kept me informed every step of the way! When the job was completed, it looked like they had never been here - the yard and landscaping look untouched. I would definitely recommend Groundworks for anyone who needs to have their foundation worked on!
Jun 06, 2025 · Richele RainosekMy house is showing foundation issues just 2 weeks before the deadline of the 10 years warranty, I was so thankful when I had appointment with Groundworks, the lady was nice and friendly. I’m counting the hours to cheat the estimate before the deadline.Four hours before the appointment, I received a phone call from my Groundworks technician who supposed to come over, saying: I can’t come in because the policy we don’t give estimates to homes whom still under warranty 😞 I was like why you don’t say that to your customers when we set up the appointment!! You made me waste all that time, and now if I call a mother company my warranty can be over. His answer was the lady on the phone is new.
Apr 01, 2025 · Abdul JabbarI had Foundation Support Specialist come to my house to do a major foundation repair. A total of 43 piers were installed. A very expensive repair. The rep, Clayton Davis assured me that with this many piers installed I would not have any further problems. It has been 3 yrs now and each year that the techs come out to my house to do measurements, they tell me that there is no adjustments needed. Although, throughout the house there are new cracks, doors don’t shut, and the concrete slab is shifting the new floor I had put down. This company sold a good idea but my house is worse off now than when this project started. I need someone from FFS or Groundwork’s or what ever your new name is, to send me a link to talk to someone that is higher up than a tech who is going to fix this issue.3/10/25 - - UPDATE!!! Groundsworks management listened and heard my complaint. Thank You!! They are currently working with me to do their BEST to resolve my foundation issues. I will update more, after what they have proposed has been completed and I see the results of their efforts. Stand by………3/17/25 - - UPDATE!!! Groundworks Injection Crew have completed their process injecting the ground stabilizing solution around the entire perimeter of my homes foundation. Greg has done exactly what he said he would do and had his crew come out to do this ground solution injection. Groundworks crew members Jose C. and Jose M. showed up on-time today. They were very thorough in making sure I understood what they were doing and what this injection solution is going to do to this clay/soil composition mix we have here in the San Antonio, TX. area. Thank you guys and thank you Groundworks for doing everything you can to stabilize my home.
Mar 17, 2025 · John MyersI hired Groundwork’s to level and stabilize my son’s driveway. All through the sales pitch I was told how they would raise the 2 pieces that were sunken to match the others and then raise the sidewalk to match. At the end of the pitch the salesman mentioned that “sometimes” it did not work because of rebar. I asked several questions at that point and was assured that it was very rare that they could not lift. Well, on the day of the procedure the most sunken piece did not cooperate. It was raised some, but every time they lifted one side the other side sank. The resulting job is just awful. They could not get it to match the sidewalk so sloppily patched it with concrete. I called and they said they would send someone out to adjust it. I got a call on June 4 saying they were on the way, but no one showed up.The pictures don’t really show, but there is still a 2 inch gap on some of the corners. I’m out thousands of dollars and will still need to have a new driveway poured to satisfy the HOA.
Jun 09, 2025 · Brenda KleinhansUpdate: 05/2025Groundworks came out for their yearly review of my property. My house is still perfectly level just the way they made it! Highly recommend!Original post: 02/2024Earl’s team came out to my house in February. They did an amazing job. They explained everything to me and showed me how everything works and how they lift the house. They were able to lift my house almost 2 inches! I am able to open all my windows with no issues ha ha! Thank you so much. Your crew was amazing Earl! Austin and his crew came out to do my driveway after Earl finished. My driveway looks brand new! FSS is awesome and I highly recommend - especially these two teams.Very professional, and super friendly!
