★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After our family moved into a circa 1840 house in Walterboro, SC in the 1970s, an elderly neighbor gifted us with an original photograph of the house that had been given to her parents around the turn of the century. For the first time, we were seeing what our two-story home looked like nearly a century earlier when it existed as a one-story dwelling! With our family in the house for almost half a century now, the photograph is truly a family treasure! However, it was not in great shape and we wanted to see what could be done to clean it, and also to help preserve it.Being that it was a small job of only one photograph, we were pleased when Ben from Carolina Conservation took an interest in it and drew up a Scope of Work plan based on what we wanted to accomplish. We were gratefully impressed by the numerous exchanges with Ben leading up to the project.Carolina Conservation cleaned the original photograph and returned it to us in an appropriate enclosure that will help keep the photograph protected. They also made a high-quality digital reproduction of the photograph. It was enlarged and we were provided with four prints, one of which was framed beautifully using safe, appropriate materials. The final products were even personally delivered to our house in Walterboro. Based on our experience with Carolina Conservation on this project, we would definitely recommend their services.
May 08, 2021 · matt hiottThe BEST! Everyone we worked with at Carolina Conservation was wonderful. They genuinely worked with us to help salvage and preserve belongings from our house fire. Not only were they knowledgeable about remediation, but they were also empathetic and professional and did a fantastic job on everything. We HIGHLY recommend Ben, Courtney, and their entire team!
Dec 05, 2024 · Leslie McKenzieCarolina Conservation was recommended to me to clean a needlepoint my grandmother made about 50 years ago. This piece was very dirty after years not framed behind glass with my grandparents that were heavy smokers. It also spent years in basement storage. This piece had a lot of sentimental value to me, so I was very concerned with how it would be cleaned. I was so grateful for the time Angel took to meet with me and the care everyone took with this piece. It turned out beautifully. It almost looks new!! I know this will be around for my grandkids.
Sep 22, 2021 · Sarah VennCarolina Conservation did a fantastic job on three of our historical artifacts now on display. Their staff is an amazing group of people that take pride in their work and are happy to help answer any questions. We will definitely be working with them on future projects!
Oct 06, 2020 · SC Military MuseumThe Carolina Conservation team is the best! We had a very serious house fire and lost a great deal. Of course, our art carried so many memories.Carolina Conservation was able to restore every single piece of art we gave them. They stayed in touch and were so very kind.Upon completion of the rebuild, they delivered all of the art back to the house in absolutely perfect condition and I was brought to tears. We couldn't be more thankful for the team, their kindness and all of the beautiful work they've done.
