I am so thankful for An Extra Hand!First let me share that 10 years ago we purchased a historic home and since the day of the purchase my husband and I have been in an epic battle of love it or list it! I have always had a vision for the home’s potential and through the years we have taken on many projects and construction to restore it.This final project would be our last: two bathroom renovations, a custom built-in make up area in master bedroom, creating a laundry room upstairs and unfortunately due to flood damage: refinishing our basement. We have lots of experience with builders through previous projects as well as building two homes from the ground up, in addition to being on the building committee for a commercial project. I have seen the good bad and ugly of construction and did my research to narrow down our choices of contractors. I had been following An Extra Hand online for years and wondered if they really could be as good as all the reviews and put them at the top of our list. An Extra Hand was the hardest to contact only because the owner David is hands on and always on a job, but once I was able to make contact with him, communication was smooth and consistent. Their bid was the most reasonable, partly due to us being able to purchase our own materials which I loved. We signed the contract with high expectations and didn’t expect for An Extra Hand to exceed them, but they did! During the 4 months of construction David and his crew Jay and Selvin came to feel like family. Their work was exceptional, they were on time daily, courteous and somehow still clean!We have now had the project complete for several weeks and I still walk around our home in awe. David was able to bring my vision to life and often offered inspired ideas that only made the project better, he is a true master artist! The best part is the debate is over, my husband just told me the home is absolutely perfect and he never wants to leave! Thank you An Extra Hand for making our old house a perfect home, and for an experience that sets the bar so high, that nothing we experienced before even comes close. My wife and I wanted a larger bedroom and a huge custom closet to achieve the owners suite that we have always dreamed of but we needed “An Extra Hand”. The entire team was professional, courteous and friendly. David went above and beyond to give us exactly what we wanted while working to stay within our budget. He is a true craftsman and master carpenter that values quality and customer satisfaction. The custom built ins and island in our closet are second to none. As with any construction project, unforeseen conditions are bound to arise. The Extra Hand team was very quick to resolve the issues and stay on schedule.We already have two more projects in mind and there is no question who will do the work. An Extra Hand exceeded expectations and deserves more than 5 stars.

David and Jay and their team did a fantastic job installing new LVP, painting all trim and doors and installing a new toilet. The job took a week and everyone was very professional and courteous. This was our second time using them and we will continue to recommend their work and use them in the future.

I knew hiring these guys would be a great decision. They KILLED it! My kitchen was the ugliest part of our house and now it’s the best! They showed up on time and left the work area really clean for us after each work day. We will definitely use them again for other renovations we need! Great group of workers in this company and EXCELLENT communication throughout the whole process. The first photo is before… DONT pass on them! You’ll regret it!

Quality work, highly recommend! We initially contacted An Extra Hand to after we noticed some water-damaged wood on our front porch. We also had another piece of exterior trim on our second story that needed to be repaired/replaced. Our house is nearly 30 years old and had the original wood trim. While we'd painted a few times over the years, nothing had never been replaced. We didn't realize the extent of water damage on the porch until it was pretty bad; it was definitely a job for a professional, so we called An Extra Hand.When Jay came for the estimate he also took time to assess the condition of all the trim on our house. He pointed out a few other items that we hadn't noticed, including damage from woodpeckers.Along with the estimate we were provided detail on potential issues that might arise once they started the repairs, so there were no surprises.David is a hands-on owner who takes pride in the quality of the work they do--and it rubs off on his crew! They showed up when they said they would, were very professional, took great care to do the job right, and cleaned up afterwards.Our house looks so much better! We are very pleased with the work and highly recommend them. They are honest and do great work.
