All-Star Basements, LLC Introduce
Working as a homeowner in Minnesota often means facing the challenges of four distinct seasons—and sometimes, those challenges settle right into your basement or crawl space. From spring thaw water intrusion to maintaining the structural integrity of your foundation against expansive soil, having a reliable and comprehensive general contractor is essential. In the Southern Minnesota region, one name stands out for specializing in the critical areas beneath your home: All-Star Basements, LLC.
More than just a waterproofing service, All-Star Basements, LLC operates as a general contractor specializing in the core components that keep your home safe, dry, and structurally sound. Based in Rochester, Minnesota, they are dedicated to providing permanent solutions for wet basements, unstable foundations, and concrete issues, earning a reputation for knowledgeable and dependable service across a wide service area that includes Southern Minnesota, Western Wisconsin, and parts of Northeast Iowa.
The company’s focus is on basement health and structural stability, offering an array of solutions that prevent damage, mitigate risks like radon, and enhance the overall value of your property. They understand the unique soil and weather conditions of the Midwest and tailor their services to offer effective, long-lasting results. Homeowners in the region consistently praise the team's professionalism, honesty in quoting, and dedication to cleaning up a job site, reflecting a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Whether you are dealing with a small leak or a major foundation concern, All-Star Basements is equipped with the expertise to guide you through the repair process from initial free estimate to final completion.
The experience begins with a thorough assessment. Customers frequently highlight the inspectors, such as Tom and Jeff, as being knowledgeable, professional, and excellent communicators who explain complex issues in an easy-to-understand manner. This detailed, no-pressure approach is critical for homeowners who may feel overwhelmed by basement or foundation problems. This dedication to education and offering tailored options, rather than pushing unnecessary products, has cemented their status as a trusted partner in home repair and improvement.
Beyond the initial inspection, the field crews are consistently described as hard-working, fast, and dedicated to minimizing disruption. For many homeowners, the ability to get a major project like basement waterproofing completed quickly—sometimes even in a single day thanks to extra crew members—is a huge benefit. This efficiency, coupled with attention to detail in cleanup and follow-up, makes the entire service experience as smooth as possible for Minnesota residents.
All-Star Basements, LLC holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and is noted for its involvement as a proud member of the National Waterproof Members of America. Their commitment to industry standards and customer trust is a cornerstone of their business philosophy. While their specialization is deep, their scope as a general contractor is broad, covering structural, concrete, and environmental health issues within the home.
When tackling serious basement water issues, All-Star Basements utilizes proprietary and proven systems. For example, their internal waterproofing solutions, such as the Drain-Eze Drain Tile System, are designed to collect water seepage from walls and footers and channel it directly to a sump pump system. This is a vital service in Minnesota, where high water tables and heavy precipitation can easily lead to a wet or flooded basement. The installation of reliable sump pump systems, often with battery backups, provides homeowners with peace of mind that their home is protected even during severe weather or power outages.
For structural concerns, they are equipped to handle complex foundation repair using recognized methods like the nationally renowned Grip-Tite Foundation Systems for walls that are buckled, tipping, or cracked. This expertise in foundation anchoring and repair is a crucial general contracting service, as a strong foundation is the absolute bedrock of a safe home. It is, however, important for homeowners to ensure that any structural repair work, such as post replacements, adheres strictly to local building codes to maintain the long-term safety and value of the home.
In summary, All-Star Basements, LLC is positioned as a leading general contractor in the Rochester area and Southern Minnesota, with a specific and highly-regarded focus on below-grade home issues. Their commitment to quality, fair pricing, and customer-first service has made them a highly recommended choice for a wide array of home repair and structural projects.

- Leaky Basement
Basement water leakage is caused by several factors. Mainly, the backfill soil around the foundation gets saturated by rain or snow melting resulting in seepage through the place where the basement wall meets the floor. A professional inspector is trained to notice these signs.
- Mold Remediation
This excess moisture can cause mold and microbial growth, decay and general indoor air quality concerns. A musty smell is sometimes the first sign of increased mold levels. At Keystone we can provide mold testing and general remediation to protect your home.

- Radon Mitigation
Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas caused by the natural breakdown of uranium in the soil under your home. This hazardous gas seeps into homes from the surrounding soil through porous cement, sump pumps, cracks in the foundation, etc. A radon system should collect from all of the sources.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I can't speak about their waterproofing services (which have great reviews), but I would not recommend All-Star for structural work. I did really appreciate our friendly, knowledgeable inspector Tom, who helped answer questions about our drainage system. We used All-Star to replace an old wood structural post in our basement. They came in significantly cheaper than our other bid, but it's because they used lower quality materials and methods. Our post is stable for now, but differs significantly from code (which is probably why All-Star didn't pull permits) and I will be removing it promptly. The install team pounded a 6x6 post to replace the old one. Since the wood has to be inserted full-size (unlike the metal jacks other companies offer), this led them to notch out the bottom corners of the post (now more like a 5x5) and hammer hard, causing drywall cracks on the floor above. When I called the office to report the cracks, I was told they are normal. (This is somewhat true, though a metal jack post can adjust gradually, reducing the risk of cracks.) What really frustrated me was when Foreman Greg told me to just "paint over them".Additionally, the post is seated in a precast deck block, which can only support 1.5k - 3k pounds (i.e. not enough for the walls, ceiling, and roof above). The green treated wood checked badly after install. Checking is normal and the wood should still be stable, but sure looks bad.I have called the other company to remove All-Star's work and do it right. Then I'll patch and repaint the cracks on my upper floor.
Aug 28, 2025 · ErikThe experience started with Tom stopping by for a free estimate. He was very thorough and in depth with explaining everything. Fantastic! The working crew showed up ready to work and explained everything that they were going to do and asked if I had any questions. They were very hard workers and very nice. I 100% would recommend All-Star Basements for any home project!
Oct 02, 2025 · Kim SwansonAll-Star Basements has exceptional customer service. However I have concerns about their French Drain installation. They installed a French Drain system at my home in late 2021 that has needed to be serviced twice due to poor installation. First for root intrusion and the following year for a bad junction. In both cases they were very responsive to resolve the issues but my concern for the rest of the system remains.
May 12, 2025 · David GrunstAll-Star did a great job on installing my radon system. I was very happy with the results, how fast they were able to get me on the schedule, and surprised how quiet the fan was. Because of the way my house is setup, I was able to have the pipe located in my garage instead of on the outside of my house. I would highly recommend them for anyone’s radon system.
Mar 08, 2024 · Michael PowellParker spent a huge amount of time surveying our situation & came up with 3 different options. He then discussed what might be best for us & planned the day & time. When the crew came, they worked quickly. And, always wanting to know if we were satisfied.
